Pregnancy is the most special phase in a woman’s life and with all the love she is showered with, every moment becomes a cherishable one for her. But with pregnancy comes the pain, aches, hormonal and bodily changes. So, staying mentally and physically fit is of utmost importance for the expecting woman. Since yoga has proved to be a boon for everyone, pregnant women too can have countless benefits but it obviously needs to be done under proper supervision for her and baby’s safety. Soon-to-be mommy, Anushka Sharma too, is practising yoga during her first pregnancy and helping her in nailing the pose is her husband, Virat Kohli. It was in August 2020 when Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli had announced their first pregnancy and the same month, the to-be parents had jetted off to Dubai for Indian Premier League 2020. Anushka had made a few appearances in the VIP stands of the stadium during Virat’s matches. Anushka had also celebrated Virat’s 32nd birthday with the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in Dubai. Ever since Anushka is back in town, she has been completing her work commitments. Anushka’s schedule is packed with projects until January 2021 when her baby is due.

Though pregnancy is a phase for expecting women to sit back and enjoy some (a lot) guilt-free norms, it is also a time to stay fit. Speaking on the importance of yoga for expecting mothers, Anushka Sharma posted a picture of herself, doing the headstand with the help of her ‘very able husband’, Virat Kohli. Anushka captioned the post as “This exercise is ‘hands-down’ (and legs up) the most difficult one #throwback P.S. – As yoga is a big part of my life, my doctor recommended that I can do all such asanas that I was doing before I was pregnant barring twists & extreme forward bends, but of course with the appropriate and required support. For the Shirshasana, which I have been doing for many years, I ensured that I used the wall for support and also my very able husband supporting me balance, to be extra safe. This was also done under the supervision of my yoga teacher @eefa_shrof who was virtually with me through this session. I'm so glad I could continue my practice through my pregnancy.”
Much like her contemporaries, Anushka Sharma too, is paving a way by proving that pregnancy shouldn’t be a barrier for women to complete their work commitments. And in her first pregnancy, Anushka is also proving with her looks that maternity dressing doesn’t have to be boring. Sometime back, the mom-to-be had stepped out for a shoot in a sunshine yellow Anita Dongre dress with minutely detailed resham embroidery work, a V-back and elbow-length balloon sleeves. Anushka’s comfy dress costs Rs 16,900 and is a perfect pick for expecting mothers! (Also Read: Shaheer Sheikh On Creating A Home With Wife Ruchikaa Kapoor, Reveals Why They Planned A 2020 Wedding)

Virat Kohli had applied to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for paternity leaves and he was granted the permission to return to India after the series opener of the India-Australia Test tour. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a statement that could be read as “At the selection committee meeting held on October 26th, 2020, Mr Virat Kohli had informed the BCCI about his plans to return to India after the first Test in Adelaide. The BCCI has granted paternity leave to the Indian captain. He will return after the first Test against Australia in Adelaide.” Breaking his silence on the same, Virat had said in a press conference, “The decision was made before the selection meeting that I will be flying back before the first Test. It was purely based on the fact that there was a quarantine period in both ways. I wanted to be back in time to be with my wife for the birth of our first child. It is very, very special and a beautiful moment in our lives and that was the reason for my decision that was communicated to the selectors."
Anushka Sharma too, had revealed that she will be back after delivering her first child and will establish a system to balance her personal and professional life. Anushka had said, “I will be back to my shoots after I deliver my child, and will establish a system at home that ensures I can balance time between my child, home and professional life. I intend to keep working for as long as I live because acting truly makes me happy.” In an interview with TOI, Anushka revealed that she and her team undergo COVID-19 tests regularly between shoots. She had said, “I had to be sure that the sets are going to be a safe place to shoot because I would be shooting during the pandemic. Though I was looking forward to shooting again, I was also careful that all the precautions were being taken.” (Also Read: Hardik Pandya And Natasa Stankovic's Son, Agastya Turns 4 Months Old, Actress Shares B'Day Pictures)
