Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent has been dragged in the deep-neck controversy with Ranveer Allahbaida's crass comments. The remarks by Ranveer and Apoorva Mukhija have left everyone furious, and a whole lot of FIRs and legal tassels have been going on. Amid this, Shark Tank India's Anupam Mittal shared his opinion and slammed YouTube On LinkedIn. Shaadi.com founder, Anupam then got called out further on LinkedIn as netizens debated over the site holding unverified profiles.
Taking to his LinkedIn, Anupam Mittal shared his point of view on India's Got Latent controversy. He shared that not only Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija should be dragged to the court, but YouTube should also be summoned. Anupam added that while the language and statements used in the show were undeniably wrong, one shouldn't forget the fact that the show is all about insults, vulgarity, irreverence, and shock, and it's the algorithm that works for the show, so if the host and guests cross the lines, how can people be scandalised.
Anupam Mittal also shared how, on digital platforms, different kinds of content are available. He raised the question of whether the law is protecting young minds from explicit content, why we as adults aren't holding platforms accountable for the content they serve, and how kids still are able to access the worst content. He further called YouTube 'worst of all defenders' for the content it serves up. He called Samay, Apoorva, and Ranveer victims and stated that they are caught in the cycle of provocation for their relevance and survival.
After Anupam Mittal's comment on YouTube, an ex-Yes Bank manager, Adarsh Samalopanan posted a note on the same. He said that while Anupam Mittal stated that YouTube should also be dragged to court for running the content without checking properly, for that matter, Shaadi.com should also be summoned. He said this for the reason that, as per him, Shaadi.com offers premium packages without proper background checks, and thus, later on, if any domestic violence case comes up to the court and that person is listed on that site without proper verification, then Shaadi.com should also be called to the court. His LinkedIn post has grabbed a whole lot of attention.
Netizens rushed to Adarsh Samalopanan's post and poured in their opinions. While some agreed with Adarsh Samalopanan, others argued and mentioned that Anupam Mittal's Shaadi.com is a platform to initiate things but not to marry a couple as it depends on the families who are there to take things forward and background checks. One user penned, "Drawing a comparison between these two scenarios solely for the sake of comparison is not appropriate." Another user commented, "Anupam Mittal is not wrong. You see shaadi dot com is a matchmaking platform. It simply matches people based on their preferences and their verified profiles. It does not marry them; further processes are done by the candidates and their families."
