Om Puri Left Pregnant Wife Seema After Cheating On Her, Sent Rs 25K When Baby Died 'His Secretary..'

Bollywood is perceived as a world of glitz, glamour and red carpets. But, beyond this limelight, several heartbreaking insights about their real-life relationships of celebs is unimaginable. Years later, when such revelations come to light, they leave fans stunned. One sensational story that broke the headlines was made by Seema Kapoor, the sister of Annu Kapoor, who tied the knot with Om Puri, which later ended on a dark note to everyone's dismay. Recently, she shared how her brother and family stood by her when they didn't have money to ensure justice was delivered.

Seema Kapoor says Annu Kapoor borrowed Rs. 5,000 from Yash Chopra for her divorce case 

Seema Kapoor, the sister of Annu Kapoor snd former wife of Om Puri never shared details about her life. But, recently, she appeared for an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel and shared a startling picture of her real life. Seema revealed that she walked out of her marriage with Om Puri after he betrayed her. In turn, he questioned their baby's legitimacy when she was pregnant, filing a case over it. She was left heartbroken over the unfolding situation where her family, including her brother, Annu Kapoor, decided that he would bring her justice. In her words: 

"My family told me that they would fight till the end. Annu bhai said he'd take him to the Supreme Court. My bhabhi said she would sell her jewellery; my other brother was willing to sell off our property."

Seema knew the situation wouldn't get solved overnight and would last for decades in court. Consequently, she informed her mom that she didn't want to fight a legal case against him. However, Seema's family were against her decision. Moreover, a lawyer asked her to claim in court that he used to beat her to send him to prison, but she didn't do it because it was untrue. However, she had to take alimony because her penniless brother, Annu Kapoor, borrowed Rs. 5000 from Yash Chopra, and her mom owed money taken for her marriage. Recalling the situation, she said:

"My parents had taken out a lot of loans for our wedding. Puri Sahab had bought some land, which hadn't been paid off entirely. I wasn't going to accept any alimony, but Bhai reminded me that mom owed a lot of money. Secondly, I remember very well that Annu bhaiya had borrowed Rs 5,000 from Yash Chopra to pay my lawyer. He was broke."

Annu Kapoor worked hard to repay his loan and became a well-known star. Initially, Seema Kapoor had to take alimony due to the financial pressure on her family caused by her marriage and legal case. However, she valued her self-respect a lot. Consequently, when Om Puri sent her Rs. 25,000 via his secretary after she lost her child, she refused to accept it. In her words:

“He knew I was pregnant, but this was a source of insecurity for Nandita. She’d call him up in front of me. But things become overwhelming; Puri sahab would drink too much, and Nandita would make a scene. One night, I decided to leave. I was three months pregnant. Forget consoling me. He sent Rs 25,000 via his secretary. I turned it down, and his secretary told me, ‘This ego is what is destroying you’. But what he thought was ego was just self-respect."

Seema Kapoor shares Om Puri had an extramarital affair with journalist, Nandita

Om Puri first married Seema Kapoor in 1991, and things were fine between her and Om. However, problems cropped up when he had an extramarital affair with journalist, Nandita. She mentioned that her good friend, Renu Saluja, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's first wife, knew about the affair. But she didn't inform her because everyone felt it was temporary. Consequently, she was pregnant when she learnt about it and walked away from him. In turn, he slapped her with a case of adultery, and they parted ways within eight months of marriage. She mentioned that he met Nandita while shooting for his film, The City Of Joy, and they later married in 1993. They have a son, Ishaan. But, in 2013, Nandita filed an allegation of domestic violence against him, and accused him of cheating on her. They parted ways but later Om Puri shared cordial germs with both his ex-wives and they hosted separate prayer meets after his demise in 2017.
