Recently, she garnered a lot of limelight after her victory on the show, Chhoriyan Chali Gaon. For the unversed, Anita emerged as the winner of the TV show hosted by Rannvijay Singha and took home the trophy. In a recent interview, the Naagin actress revealed getting paid less after her comeback on TV post-pregnancy.

In a recent podcast with Hindi Rush, Anita Hassanandani opened up about shrinking paychecks in the Indian TV industry. Earlier, this year in 2025, TV actress, Reem Shaikh highlighted a similar issue on a podcast hosted by comedian, Bharti Singh and her husband, Haarsh Limbachiyaa. In the podcast, the couple also revealed how they survived loans due to the budget issues sustained in the television industry. Highlighting the same issue, Anita shared that earlier actors earned much, but now the scenario has changed as the budgets have gone down. In her words:

"Pehle jitna milta tha TV actors ko, ab utna nahi milta hai because budgets have gone down. Itne saare shows hai and itne saare mediums. And also, there are actors who are working for less amount, so people think paise bachao."

In the same podcast, Anita revealed her side of the story of getting paid less after her comeback on TV post-pregnancy. For the unversed, Anita welcomed her son, Aaravv, on February 9, 2021, with her husband, Rohit Reddy. Ever since, she has kept herself away from the small screen. She made a full-fledged return with the TV soap opera, Suman Indori, in 2024. Anita shared that the budget issue has started post-COVID. The Suman Indori actress revealed that she got less than the amount she earned per day. Despite the pay cut, Anita chose to work on the project as her only priority was to get back to work and not money. She was quoted as saying:

"All of this started post-COVID, as everyone had reasons that due to Covid there were losses. When I came back, I got less than what my per-day pay used to be."

Anita was born on April 14, 1981, in a Sindhi family in Mumbai. At the mere age of 15, she lost her father and started working as a receptionist to support her family. In 1998, she began her acting career with the TV serial, Idhar Udhar, and later appeared in the TV series, Hare Kaanch Ki Choodiyaan.

However, in 2015, with Ekta Kapoor’s serial, Kkavyanjali, where she portrayed the role of 'Anjali', Anita became an overnight star. Anita also appeared in films like Taal, Kucch To Hai, and Yeh Dil, but gained more success on television through shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, and Naagin. Over her 27-year career, she has worked on more than 68 TV shows.

Coming to her personal life, Anita dated her Kkavyanjali co-star, Eijaz Khan, for two years, but they eventually broke up. Later, she met businessman, Rohit Reddy, and the couple got married in 2013 in a Telugu-Sindhi wedding in Goa. In 2021, the duo welcomed their son, Aaravv.
