Anil Sharma On Helping Priyanka Chopra After Botched Nose Job, Reveals If They Are Still In Touch

Priyanka Chopra made her Hindi film debut in filmmaker, Anil Sharma's Hero: Love Story of a Spy. Not long ago, he revealed how he was the only one in the film fraternity who did not fire global icon, Priyanka Chopra after her nose surgery went wrong. However, that was not all. He also convinced producers, Sunil Darshan and Subhash Ghai to cast PeeCee in their films, Andaaz and Aitraaz. 

Anil Sharma on Priyanka Chopra's success 

In a recent conversation with Vickey Lalwani, Anil Sharma was asked to address his comment about Priyanka Chopra's career. For the unversed, after Anil revealed how he retained Priyanka when she was not getting any work because of her nose. Many speculated that the filmmaker was trying to take credit for the actress' success.

However, during the conversation, he clarified that and revealed he had no direct links to the actress' success. He stated that he only supported her during a tough time and offered her a role when she was on the verge of quitting. He was quoted saying:

"I don’t have any hand in her success. She is successful because she is very talented and when you are this good, God sometimes brings people in your life who give you a push. And I think I can be one of those people."

Anil Sharma reveals if Priyanka Chopra is still in touch with him

In the same conversation, Anil Sharma revealed if he and Priyanka Chopra were still in touch. The filmmaker shared that the actress was indeed in touch with him and would come to meet him even if they were in a crowded room. When he was asked why he never worked with PeeCee again after her debut in Hero, he responded by stating that the actress had become such a big star that there needed to be a suitable role for them to work together again. He was quoted saying:

"She has stayed in touch with me. If she sees me in a crowd of 100 people, she comes to meet me. We have a good relationship. I also shared a good bond with her late father. Priyanka Chopra became such a big star, so there should also be a role suiting her."

Anil Sharma previously sat down to have a conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel. Where he recalled that he had given Priyanka a signing token of Rs. 5 lakhs, and she had come to return it after everyone kept on firing her for her botched nose surgery. He revealed that PeeCee had almost decided to leave Mumbai for a year so she could recover back in Bareily, but he stopped her. He stated: 

"Maine Priyanka ko bulaaya. Aur maine usko paach lakh ka token diya hua tha. Toh vo aai, paach lakh ka cheque lekar. unhoney kaha, 'humko toh sabne nikaal diya hum toh Bareilly jaa rahe hai kal, bas aaphi ka intezaar kar rahe the'. Toh maine kaha nahi aap ruko. Phir maine Pandri da ko phone kiya. Vo Yash Raj k yaha...ittefaq ki baat thi, Priyanka ka luck tha ki vo ushi waqt aa gaye. Toh maine kaha inka naak thoda theek kar saktey ho makeup se. Toh unhoney kaha theek hai phir maine screen test liya. Phir kuch din baad vo CD maine bheji sab jagha toh sabne bola 'Yeh kaun ladki hai?' Toh maine kaha Priyanka hai. Toh bas ho gaya."
