'Wanted To Cry..' Anil Kapoor's Co-Star Reveals Not Being Informed About 'Kissing' Scene With Him

Bollywood actress, Anjana Sukhani starred in the hit film, Salaam-E-Ishq, opposite Anil Kapoor in 2007.  After so many years, Anjana for the first time in so many years, Anjana revealed that she was clueless about a kissing scene with the actor, Anil Kapoor till the last moment. Anjana not only bared her emotions about the incident but also lashed out at the director, Nikkhil Advani, as she couldn't voice out her objection.

The early 2000s were the time when actresses were not given much of a role, and they were always portrayed as the eye candy in a movie to make the film work. There were even times when they were asked to do a kissing scene or item number without any prior intimation, and a similar thing happened with actress, Anjana Sukhani.

She talked about the same in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Anjana revealed that she was not informed about the kiss till the end, until they were walking on the set for the scene. She was quoted as saying:

"There is a scene where AK (Anil Kapoor) completely shaves his mustache, and there is a club scene. There is supposed to be a kiss between me and AK. I was not told about the kiss right till the end we were walking on the set to do the scene, I was not told."

Anjana added that she was okay with the kissing scene if the script had such demand and that she had been informed about the same in advance. Anjana shared that she needed time to prepare for it mentally. Anjana shared that she had no one to have a word with. Anjana added that she was scared that if she was asked to leave the film as they could have told her that the scene was important for the film. She said:

"What if I was asked to leave the film? I am just assuming. What if he would have told me, this scene is important and if you don’t do it then leave. Then what do I do?"

Anjana Sukhani further clarified that she doesn't hold any resentment but accepted that there is still 'bitterness' around the incident. She shared that she wanted to cry as she wasn't mentally prepared for it. She was quoted as saying:

"I wanted to cry because I wasn’t mentally prepared for it. I am saying if I knew, like, maybe an hour or one hour ago, I would have been prepared, but it came as a shock. I don’t have any friends on set, and PC (Priyanka Chopra) was not there." 

For the unversed, Salaam-E-Ishq was released in 2007, and featured famous star cast of that time, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, Govinda, John Abraham, Juhi Chawla and others in lead roles.
