Anil Kapoor has never shied away from experimenting with new roles or trying new things as an actor, like hosting Bigg Boss OTT 3. After being in the industry for more than four decades, he has always been candid with his opinions on new trends in the industry. Anil recently sat down for an interview with India Today, where he shared his views on the recent debate of increasing film expenses and hefty star fees in Bollywood.
Several big-budget Bollywood films have tanked at the box office in recent years. It has brought a major loss to production houses and cinema owners, sparking a debate around the pay scale for actors in Bollywood. Anil Kapoor was asked about his take on the debate. The Animal actor said everyone should be realistic about the pay and expenses. He thinks it's important to be realistic and he has been able to have a long career in Bollywood because he always thought realistically about pay and expenses.

Anil Kapoor added that he always thinks from a producer's perspective when he quotes his fees for a certain project. However, he doesn't want himself to be taken for granted due to this approach. He was quoted as saying:
"To be honest, most of the time, I always step into their (the producers') shoes (while quoting fees). Of course, I don't want people to also take me for granted. I should get what I deserve. But yes, I have survived so long because I understand these things, and have always been conscious about it."
After having a different host every season, Salman Khan has been hosting Bigg Boss since its 4th season. He has continued in the role and has become synonymous with the show. Fans love to watch him host the show with his honest and unfiltered approach. Given this demand, he reportedly charged around Rs. 350 crore for the whole season of Bigg Boss 16 and 17 each, with Rs. 25 crore for each weekend and Rs. 12 crore per episode. It was the same for Bigg OTT 2. However, Anil Kapoor is expected to get Rs. 2 crore per episode. The fee is considerably less than Salman Khan's salary, almost six times less per episode.
