Anil Kapoor is one of the most successful actors of his generation. The 66-year-old actor has been making fans go gaga over him with his terrific acting chops and versatile skills. Over the past few years, the actor has been treating his fans with some of the most iconic characters, which have etched a special place in hearts of the audience. Despite being the son of an eminent filmmaker, things were never a bed of roses for Anil. He had to work his way out through hard work, to reach the pinnacle of success that has been enjoying now.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Anil Kapoor remembered his father, late Surinder Kapoor. Recalling fond anecdotes about his father, the actor mentioned how the latter was mostly an introvert by nature. Heaping praises on his honesty, Anil said:

“He was very honest, decent, and kind of an introvert. He was a good man and so he was not one of the pushy, filmy or aggressive ones. He was a gentleman.”

Amongst the other revelations, Anil talked about his father’s contribution to his acting career. He mentioned that unlike what most would have thought, his father was quite clear from the first day that he wouldn’t do anything for him. Elaborating more, he said:
“He very clearly told me that ‘I cannot do anything for you’ and I never expected him to do anything for me. So from the day, I felt instinctive, I said, ‘It’s time for me to get out, go to the battlefield, and fight it out.”
Speaking along the same lines, Anil further talked about his experience of finding his own way in the film industry, without any concrete help or guidance. The actor mentioned feeling exhausted and tiring, since he couldn’t land up some good projects. Recalling how he used to sit with his friends and ended up drinking rum, he said:
“It was exhausting, it was tiring, frustrating. I looked worse, I felt worse. I used to sit with my friends and have Rum. I was a bitter person. I channelled it in my work. Awaragi, Mashaal. You see that anger, it was that anger and bitterness. Awaragi was much later but Mashaal, yes.”

For the unversed, Anil Kapoor is married to Sunita Kapoor and the duo is proud parents to their three kids, Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor and Harshvarrdhan Kapoor. While Sonam and Rhea are married, the former is even mommy to her son, Vaayu. In a previous interaction with ETimes, Anil Kapoor had opened up about his feelings on becoming a grandfather. The actor revealed that such a feeling is incomparable to anything else.
