Amid The Kiss Cam, Andy Byron's Ex-Colleagues Call Him 'Toxic' Boss, 'Would Lash Out Against...'

Coldplay's concerts have always been one of the most enthralling moments for the audience. However, the concert turned into a nightmare for Astronomer CEO, Andy Byron, as he was caught in a cosy moment with the company’s chief human resources officer, Kristin Cabot. The controversy broke out during Coldplay’s popular ‘kiss cam’, which puts random people from the crowd into the spotlight at the concert.

During the recent ‘kiss cam’ at the Gillette Stadium near Boston, the tech titan was spotted cuddling his HR Chief, Kristin. It not only exposed his affair with Kristin but also raised questions about his professionalism. Right after the scandal, Andy garnered a lot of attention, and now, his former colleagues are accusing him of being a terrible boss.

In the light of Andy Byron’s awkward moment during Coldplay’s concert, his ex-employees are having their share of fun as they feel their ex-boss has wronged them. One of the ex-employees of Andy called him ‘toxic’ for his sales-obsessed attitude at workplace and stated:

“Everybody’s laughing and enjoying the hell out of what happened and him getting exposed.”

Andy Byron’s leadership resulted in severe pressure on the employees

Andy worked as the chief revenue officer at Cybereason from 2017 to 2019, and people were not happy with his leadership. While an ex-employee at Cybereason stated that ‘no one could question Andy'. Another employee added that Andy’s leadership added huge pressure on the employees. It was also reported that many quit their job because of the work culture he created.

A 2018 investigation published by The Information stated that Andy often replaced low-performing employees with people from his previous company, Fuze. An ex-employee, who worked with Andy, can be quoted:

“Multiple former employees said Mr. Byron would lash out against employees who disagreed with him, including threatening to fire them.”

It so happened that during the concert of Coldplay, Chris Martin followed their 'kiss cam' to interact with the audience. And suddenly, the camera zoomed in on the couple who were seen cuddling and sharing a cosy moment at the concert. However, as soon as the camera focused on them, they quickly moved away and hid their faces. The duo was later identified as Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot. Soon after, Andy and Kristin started receiving flak on social media for alleged 'cheating' and 'affair'.

Andy Byron’s professional life

Before taking up the prestigious role of Chief Executive Officer at Astronomer, Andy Bryan held leadership roles at popular tech firms in the industry. He was President of Lacework, served as Chief Revenue Officer at Cybereason, and worked in BMC Software. A graduate of Providence College, Andy is a tech titan in the US. In 2023, he assumed the leadership role at Astronomer and worked diligently to drive the company’s growth.

According to reports, Andy Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, and they reside in New York with their two children. While Andy is the CEO of Astronomer, Megan is reportedly an assistant director of the Lower School and the Hope Graham Program admissions at the Bancroft School in Massachusetts. On the other hand, reports claimed that Kristin has been married previously, but she recently got divorced.

While there were many accusations against Andy for being a ‘toxic’ boss, the man himself denied any misconduct.
