Who Is 'Anaconda' Actress, Daniela Melchior? All About Her And Rumoured Romance With Kylian Mbappe

Anaconda is a 2025 American action-comedy horror film directed by Tom Gormican. The film is a meta remake of the 1997 original of the same name and the sixth instalment in the Anaconda franchise. Released on December 25, 2025, the film stars Paul Rudd, Jack Black, Steve Zahn, Daniela Melchior, Stelton Mello, and Thandiwe Newton in major roles. The film premiered at the United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles, California, on December 13, 2025, and has now been released worldwide by Sony Pictures Releasing.

The actress plays an important role in the film as 'Ana Almedia', the group's boat captain, a key member of the main cast, and a central part of the rebooted action comedy. Meet Portuguese actress, Daniela Melchior

Daniela Melchior, born Daniela Melchior dos Reis Lopes Pereira, is a Portuguese actress born on November 1, 1996, in Almada, Portugal. From a young age, Daniela knew that she wanted to become a film star. She had an intense passion for action and even did a vocational course in performing arts in high school. During her academic years, Daniela would participate in local and school theatre productions, polishing her stage skills. At the age of 16, she joined a modelling agency to gain access to the acting industry, appearing in small commercials.

Daniela Melchior's rise in the acting world

Daniela Melchior landed her first acting role in 2014 with the TV series, Mulheres, in which she starred in 316 episodes, while also appearing in 68 episodes of the teen drama, Massa Fresca in 2016. However, in 2017, she had her first breakthrough role in the TV series, Ouro Verde, in which she appeared in 221 episodes. Daniela worked on her first feature film, The Black Book, in 2018. The same year, she worked in Parque Mayer, which earned her a nomination for the Sophia Awards for best actress. 

Daniela Melchior made her Hollywood acting debut in James Gunn's 2021 superhit film, The Suicide Squad, alongside Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Will Smith, and Jay Hernandez. The actress essayed the role of 'Celo Cazo'/'Ratcatcher 2' in the film. James had chosen Daniela in 2019 after she presented herself for her second audition as a darker, eccentric avatar, rather than her initial, traditionally glamorous approach in the first round. Since then, Daniela has appeared in several films, including Marlow, Assassin Club, and the Fast & Furious film titled Fast X.

James Gunn wrote the character 'Ura' especially for Daniela Melchior

Daniela Melchior once again worked with James Gunn in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The makers announced that the actress will be returning to the MCU as 'Ura' in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It was also reported that James specifically wrote the character for Daniela. 

Daniela Melchior's struggle with ADHD, anxiety, and IBS

According to Fandom.com, Daniela Melchior suffered from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) ahead of filming The Suicide Squad. It was the actress' first role in Hollywood, and the idea of working with names like Margot Robbie and Idris Elba made her extremely anxious, which later triggered IBS. It was in October 2024, during ADHD Awareness Month, that Daniela opened up about her own struggles with anxiety and ADHD. She talked about how the constant travelling had triggered her anxiety. A part of her post read:

"It's ADHD Awareness Month, and I want to remain transparent and vulnerable with you all, because I believe that only beautiful things can come from vulnerability."

Daniela Melchior's rumoured relationship with Ruben Dias 

While Daniela Melchior has built a strong filmography over the years, always in the limelight, her personal life has been invisible to fans. The actress has kept her relationships under wraps. However, in January 2024, rumours started circulating suggesting that the actress might have someone special in her life. According to reports, the Portuguese defender for Manchester City, Ruben Dias, took a keen interest in the actress. Reports stated that he was sending Daniela flirty texts and liking her Instagram pictures. 

The news came after Ruben broke up with his Love Island girlfriend, Arabella, following a New Year's break. The duo met through mutual friends in September 2023. According to The Sun, Arabella was not aware that Ruben Dias had started seeing someone else and was completely blindsided by what happened. On the other hand, a source revealed that Daniela was flattered by Ruben's initiative. However, despite creating a buzz at the time, the two were never spotted together, eventually ending the rumours of their relationship.

Daniela Melchoir once again became the face of dating speculation after she was linked to the French professional footballer Kylian Mbappé. The duo started following each other on Instagram earlier this year. However, in August 2025, reports of their budding romance resurfaced when they began exchanging likes regularly. This led Mbappe fans to slam the actress for 'fishing for likes'. While she didn't react to the buzz, many alleged that she and Kylian were spotted in Portugal earlier in 2025. However, once again, the couple never made it official or addressed the speculations.
