Amogh went to ISKCON’s Dwarka centre and started his life as a monk, changing his name to Amogh from Ashish Arora.

In July 2023, Amogh Lila Das got into trouble after he shared his views on Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramhansa. The monk criticised Vivekananda for eating fish, and it hurt the sentiments of people across the nation. Not only this, Amogh also criticised Vivekananda for his teachings about Ramakrishna Paramhansa. As soon as the controversy reached the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), the committee immediately banned Amogh for one month.
