This year’s Diwali bash for the Bachchans was extra special as they had hosted a Diwali party at their residence Jalsa after 2 years. A Times Of India report had suggested that Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan will be hosting a Diwali bash at their home, Jalsa. A Filmfare report had stated that in 2017, because of the demise of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's father, the Bachchans had not hosted the party at Jalsa. And in 2018, because Shweta Bachchan Nanda's father-in-law had passed away, there was no Diwali bash at Jalsa. The guest list was speculated to be Ajay Devgn and Kajol, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, Sanjay Dutt, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt amongst many others. (Suggested Read: Janhvi Kapoor Looks Like A Carbon Copy Of Her Mother, Sridevi In A White Saree For A Diwali Bash)

However, the Bachchans were trolled for bursting crackers on Diwali 2018. Amitabh Bachchan had posted pictures wherein he, his wife, Jaya Bachchan, son, Abhishek Bachchan and granddaughter, Aaradhya Bachchan could be seen celebrating the festival of lights by burning crackers. This didn’t go well with the netizens and the Bachchan parivaar was trolled for not contributing towards a pollution-free Diwali and bursting crackers.

Bachchan Family

Even if the Bachchans are the first family of Bollywood, they are also subjected to trolls and hatred from the audiences. Abhishek Bachchan had once Revealed in an interview with a media portal that how such hatred doesn’t bother him but it only affects him because he realises that it must be hard on his parents, Amitabh ji and Jaya ji, and had said, "At the start of my career, I was very confused when people were dedicating so much time and energy talking about the privilege that was afforded to me because of the home I was born. First and foremost, I did not choose the family I was born. It used to affect me because I used to feel bad for my parents." (Do Read: Sushmita Sen Celebrates Diwali With Newly-Married Rajeev Sen-Charu Asopa And Family)
