Ameesha Patel Slams Media For Insensitivity Towards Deol's Family, Amid Dharmendra's Health

Dharmendra is one of the most phenomenal actors in Bollywood, who has won hearts with his acting. However, since  November 11, 2025, there has been buzz surrounding his death. The Deol family, including Hema Malini, Esha Deol and Sunny Deol, strongly reacted to the media's insensitive actions. The veteran actor was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai. On November 12, 2025, the 89-year-old actor was discharged from the hospital. Now, Ameesha Patel reacted to the media’s insensitive behaviour towards the Deol family.

Ameesha Patel condemns the media's insensitive actions towards the Deol family

On November 13, 2025, Ameesha Patel took to her Instagram Stories and strongly reacted to the media’s insensitivity towards Dharmendra. Earlier, the actress visited the Breach Candy Hospital to see Dharmendra. Ameesha’s story comes hours after Sunny Deol slammed the media for crowding in front of Dharmendra’s residence, and a private video from the hospital featuring Dharmendra circulated online. The note shared by Ameesha can be read as:

"I strongly believe the media needs to leave the Deol family alone at this time and respect their privacy."

Karan Johar strongly reacts to the media's over-intrusive actions

On November 13, 2025, Karan Johar took to his Instagram Stories to condemn the media for their over-intrusive behaviour. He requested the paparazzi to leave the Deol family, who are going through a tough phase. He also called the media’s action 'heartbreaking'. The note shared by the filmmaker can be read as:

"When basic courtesy and sensitivity leaves our hearts and our actions we know we are a doomed race … Please leave a family alone! !!! They are already emotionally combatting so much … its hearbreaking to see a paparazzi and media circus for a living legend who has contributed so massively to our cinema ... this is not coverage it's disrespect!"

When the Deol family slammed the media for their insensitivity

A video featuring Sunny Deol yelling at paps is currently available online. He schooled the paparazzi when they were seen stationed outside Dharmendra’s house. He slammed them and said that they should be ashamed of their actions, as they, too, have parents and children at home. Earlier, Esha Deol condemned the media’s action and shared that his father is stable and is recovering. In fact, Hema Malini too took to her X handle (formerly Twitter) and strongly reacted to the media’s actions. In her tweet, she called their actions unforgivable, disrespectful and irresponsible.

The Deol family also issued an official statement requesting privacy at the moment. For the past few days, Dharmendra’s health is quite concerning. In the note, the family shared that Dharmendra has been discharged from Breach Candy Hospital and that his recovery will continue at home. They also requested that the media refrain from any further speculation about him. The note can be read as:

"Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you."
