Ameesha Patel Reveals Sanjay Dutt Is 'Possessive' About Her, 'I'm Not Allowed To Wear Shorts...'

Ameesha Patel, who made her Bollywood debut with Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai immediately came into the spotlight with the film's success. She soon signed more films and developed a good bond with actors like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Sunny Deol and more. However, one of the actress's closest friendships she share has been with Sanjay Dutt, who treats her like a family member. In a recent interview, Ameesha shared more insights about her bond with Sanjay and revealed how he has tried to find a suitable match for her. 

Ameesha Patel reveals she is not allowed to wear western clothes at Sanjay Dutt's residence 

Ameesha Patel recently sat down for an interview with Bollywood Bubble and opened up about her bond with different actors, including Sanjay Dutt. She recalled that once, she celebrated her birthday at the Dhamaal actor's home. The Gadar 2 actor highlighted that Sanjay Dutt is protective towards her to the extent that he disapproves her of wearing Western clothes or shorts at home. In her words:  

"He is very protective and possessive with me. When I go to his house, I'm not allowed to wear shorts, and I'm not allowed to wear Western clothes."

The actress revealed that every time she visits her home, she has to wear Indian outfits like salwaar kameez. At the same time, he often mentions that she is extremely innocent for the entertainment industry and should rather get married. Moreover, he claimed he would get her married and find a suitable prospect. She said: 

"I have to be in a salwar kameez, so Sanju is one person who says, 'You're too innocent to be in this film industry.' Main teri shaadi karwaunga, Main ladka dhundunga, Main kanyadaan karunga. You know, he's very protective and adores me, always looking out for my well-being; he'll always ask me if I'm okay."

When Ameesha Patel quashed rumours about her 'misbehaving' with Sanjay Dutt 

Earlier in 2012, a report revealed that when Sanjay Dutt and Ameesha Patel joined the wedding festivities of Rohit Dhawan, the actor asked Ameesha to cover herself with a dupatta and even tried to do it himself. But it made the actress angry and yelled at him. However, Ameesha later, in an interview with Times Of India, clarified the rumours and said: 

"Sanju is very protective of me. He's such a dear friend that he can never ever misbehave. In fact, Sanju would himself kill if someone tried to touch me. He wouldn't allow even a fly to hurt me. All these cheap rumours of 'misbehaviour' are sheer nonsense and spread by jealous losers."

Ameesha Patel's career so far 

Ameesha Patel made her debut with Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai that brought her overnight fame. She next starred in another blockbuster film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha that established her as one of the lead actresses in Bollywood. However, the actor had a decline in her career with unsuccessful films like Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar, Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage, Yeh Hai Jalwa and more. She then turned to play supporting roles and made an impressive comeback with the sequel of her iconic film, Gadar with Sunny Deol. The film broke major records at the box office, and Ameesha is looking to make her way into films with another suitable film.
