In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Ameesha Patel spoke about her journey so far in Bollywood, especially after she tasted such sweet success in her comeback from a hiatus of five years in the film industry. The diva mentioned that success has always been a staggering curve in her career, and recalled the times when her films failed to mark an impact on the box office. Revealing how she frequently became a target of nasty criticism whenever her films failed, Ameesha emphasised that such things happened since she was an outsider and didn’t have a godfather. In her words:

“I don’t think all the actresses were targeted, only those who didn’t come from film families were targeted because we didn’t get any support. Those who belong to the industry will always have an edge, that’s a fact. If I had belonged to the film fraternity, if I had a godfather then even if my films didn’t work it wouldn’t have mattered and I would have gotten the biggest films. But that’s fine, maybe I am just meant for blockbuster hits.”

Well, there have been many revelations from various actors over generations, as to how Bollywood has seemingly existed as a thoroughly competitive work environment. Speaking along the same lines, Ameesha revealed whether there was any moment of time that she faced the heat of insecurity from fellow actors. She mentioned that although she heard and felt such hindrances, nevertheless, she never let them define her own career. She mentioned:
“I don’t know, you will have to ask them. I used to hear stories about them but nobody is going to come to your face and tell you that. When you are working, it’s an environment where you give your best and even if I knew or sensed it, I wouldn’t have let it affect me and I would have just focused on giving my best.”
In the concluding segment of the interview, Ameesha Patel highlighted an unknown malady of the film industry, and shared how there has been quite a lot of times when as an actress, she was forced to forego her stipulated fees, just because the film failed to hit the mark overall. While she emphasised how it betrayed her hard work and efforts that she put in for the film, but eventually she agreed for the same, due to her sheer respect for the filmmaker. In her words:
“Sometimes when the films didn’t work, the producers had sweetly come to me and asked me to waive my fee because their films didn’t work at the box office and they were at losses. I have let the fees go in such situations because I think it’s very important to understand another person’s position. So, no one forced me to give up my remuneration, I have done out of respect for my producers.”
