Amaal Mallik defends his statements against his father

In the latest episode of Bigg Boss 19, a reporter questioned Amaal Mallik on his statement of calling his father a failure. To answer the same, the musician defended himself and explained that there is nothing wrong in calling someone a failure. He continued to reveal that Daboo Malik has also called himself a failure in multiple interviews. Amaal Mallik was quoted as saying:

"There is no harm in being a failure; I was 15 years old, and he had said it to me. He has also mentioned it in many interviews that 'I failed, but my sons gave me back the position in life.' I think I have the guts to forget about being image-conscious; I laid down my whole truth. I wanted to tell the truth. I think he failed in his journey, but he took failure beautifully."

Amaal continued to explain that if his father had not failed in his own journey, then he and Armaan wouldn’t have the hunger to succeed in life. The musician further recalled the debate on nepotism with Gaurav Khanna and stated that he was not given things on a platter because of his family’s legacy and he has no shame in accepting the truth. In his words:

"He came to support me when I had made a few mistakes. I feel that had my father not failed, I wouldn’t have had the hunger and passion to succeed. Due to our family name, people have a perception that we get things ready on a platter. I wanted to prove that it wasn’t the case. My father has said this multiple times earlier as well, so I don't think I did anything wrong in stating the reality."
