Alix Earle's Stepmom Shades Cheryl Burke's Weight Loss After Low DWTS Scores, 'Go Take More Ozempic'

Dancing With the Stars has been making headlines lately, but none more so than for former pro-turned-judge Cheryl Burke. Her striking weight loss has left fans stunned, sparking endless speculation about whether Ozempic played a role — claims Burke has firmly denied. However, the show’s Halloween special brought fresh drama, this time off the dance floor. 

After influencer Alix Earle missed out on a perfect score when Burke gave her a nine, Earle’s stepmom, Ashley Dupre, took a pointed jab at the judge’s appearance. Her remark instantly reignited online chatter about Burke’s transformation.

During the Halloween-special episode, which aired on October 28, 2025, Alix Earle and her pro partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, danced a hauntingly elegant tango to Billie Eilish’s song, Bury a Friend. The routine received a huge round of applause and equally impressed the judges, earning the pair three perfect 10s from Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough.

However, for the guest judge of the dance reality show, Cheryl Burke, Ashley and her partner’s performance was not worthy of that score. She held back and flashed a 9, bringing the influencer’s total to 39 out of 40. This didn’t sit well with Alix’s family, especially her stepmom, Ashley Durpre.

Ashley Dupre, who was watching the show from home, wasn’t having it. She filmed her live reaction to the scores on her TikTok account as the scores were revealed. When Cheryll held up her paddle, Dupre exclaimed:

“Oh, go take more Ozempic!”

Her kids, sitting beside her, looked confused, and one of them asked her about her remarks. To this, the 40-year-old mom replied by saying, “What? She looks weird. Doesn’t even look like her.” Dupre ended her video on a positive note, gushing over her stepdaughter’s performance. The Ozempic comment has since gone viral online, sparking backlash for body-shaming and also reigniting speculations about Burke’s drastic weight loss.

For those unfamiliar, Ashley Dupre married Alix’s father, Thomas ‘TJ’ Earle, in 2013. The couple shares three children, in addition to Alix and her sister, Ashtin, from TJ’s previous marriage.

What Cheryl Burke has said about her weight loss

Cheryl left viewers shocked with her recent appearance, looking unrecognisable after losing a dramatic amount of weight. While the former DWTS champ has never confirmed using the diabetes drug Ozempic, she has publicly addressed the rumors, calling them ‘cruel and untrue’.

Cheryl has attributed her slimmer appearance to healthier lifestyle changes rather than medication. Speaking to Us Weekly, the 41-year-old said:

“There’s just no way, I faint at the sight of needles. And I’ve heard of side effects… I’m not willing to feel like that. I changed my eating habits. I stopped eating past 7 p.m., and it changed my whole body. It wasn’t so much about a number on the scale as it was about how I feel.”

Earlier, in an interview with PEOPLE, Cheryl had opened up about her struggles with body image as a young dancer and how constant criticism about her weight affected her mentally. She shared that her transformation began from within, prioritising self-acceptance before changing her lifestyle. The former DWTS pro now follows a clean, active routine, avoiding junk food and focusing on feeling good rather than chasing numbers.
