New Mommy, Alia Bhatt Recalls Her Obsession With Body Weight, Says, 'It Took A Bit Of A Toll On Me'

One of the most bankable actresses of B-town, Alia Bhatt entered Bollywood at the age of 17 with her debut film, Student Of The Year, in 2012 and since then, there is no looking back for her. With some stellar performances in films like Highway, Udta Punjab, Gully Boy, Gangubai Kathiawadi and Brahmastra, Alia is one of the top actresses of Bollywood today.

On the personal front, Alia Bhatt got married to the love of her life, Ranbir Kapoor on April 14, 2022, and the doting couple welcomed their baby girl on November 6, 2022. Ever since Alia delivered her baby girl, her fans are eagerly waiting to see the first glimpse of the little princess. A few days back, the proud mommy posted a picture on her IG handle after her delivery. In the picture, she was seen showing off a cup, which featured 'mama' on it.

In a recent interview with Marie Claire, Alia Bhatt revealed her obsession with her body weight when she entered Bollywood. Talking about the same, Alia stated:

“You think that’s the way it’s supposed to be. And it took a bit of a toll on me in terms of my obsession with my body and my weight.”

In the same interview, the new mommy also revealed she took some time to be kinder to her body and is at the most comfortable phase. Giving a piece of health advice to young women out there, Alia said:

“It’s not about every little splodge of skin on your body. You can’t be squishing it and thinking, This is an issue. That is an issue. I’m saying, if you pick on yourself first, then you’re inviting every other [person’s] negative thoughts towards your body.”
