The Kapoor family is celebrating Raj Kapoor's 100th birth anniversary and has organised a grand three-day event as a way to pay homage to the late legend. They invited celebrities from the Hindi cinema to celebrate the life of Raj Kapoor and his work with the entire Kapoor family. PVR INOX Limited and the Film Heritage Foundation organise the RK Film Festival.
As the Kapoors arrived at the venue, a heartfelt moment unfolded between the Kapoor bahu, Alia Bhatt and her father, Mahesh Bhatt, at the RK Film Festival in Mumbai on December 13, 2024. In the viral video, Alia Bhatt was seen joyously posing with the two most significant men in her life. As the trio posed, Alia endearingly kissed her father, Mahesh Bhatt, on the cheek. Seeing the cutesy moment, the paparazzi were also prompted to cheer for the adorable moment on the red carpet.
The RK Film Festival is a tribute to Raj Kapoor’s timeless cinematic legacy. The three-day event started with a grand celebration of some of his most iconic works. The event featured screenings of Kapoor’s iconic films, such as Awaara, Shree 420, and Mera Naam Joker, in select theatres across 40 cities in the country.
Ranbir Kapoor, who is said to share a striking resemblance to his iconic grandfather, Raj Kapoor, embraced the similarities for the occasion. Ranbir donned a classic dark bandhgala and a moustache for the event, evoking memories of Raj Kapoor’s charming style. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt looked like a vision in an ivory saree, which fans have speculated to be her tribute to Nargis, Raj Kapoor’s dazzling co-star.

It was a star-studded night as the Kapoor family and Bollywood stars came together to commemorate the legacy of Raj Kapoor, one of Indian cinema’s most iconic actors. Raj was one of the most celebrated pioneers in the film fraternity, and it showed not just his family but the entire Bollywood came together to pay his respects to the star. Apart from the Kappors, other celebrities in attendance included Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Farhan Akhtar, Rekha, Padmini Kolhapure, Vicky Kaushal, Kartik Aaryan, Sharvari, Boney Kapoor, Soni Razdan, Shaheen Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal.
The Kapoor family, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Karisma Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and others, recently travelled to New Delhi. The clan was visiting the PM's residence to share the special invitation for the RK Film Festival with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The PM had spent some time with the Kapoors and had even shared a video from their meeting, in which the family was be seen discussing the captivating era of Raj Kapoor.
