Alia Bhatt is shining brightly in her professional field. The actress began with her film, Student Of The Year, and her journey till Gangubai Kathiawadi had been truly inspiring. In her professional life, the actress is gearing up for the release of Jigra. Apart from being a supremely talented actress, Alia is a doting mom to her daughter, Raha. And recently, she shared the backstory of selecting Raha's name, which also involves South star, Jr NTR.
In a recent chat with Jr NTR, who is promoting his film, Devara Part 1, Alia Bhatt recalled the time when she was fully pregnant and was on a promotional spree for Bramhastra: Part 1. The actress said that she and Ranbir were in Hyderabad for the promotions and Jr NTR invited the couple for a party at his home.

Alia shared how she and Ranbir were discussing their baby names and were deciding upon what they should name the baby if it's a boy or a girl. That was the first time Jr. NTR heard the name 'Raha' and prayed that Alia would give birth to a baby girl only. Alia said:
"This love started with Taarak very graciously coming to the Brahmastra press meet in Hyderabad and he invited us to his house for dinner. We had such a warm evening, and I remember that was the first time that we discussed possible baby names in front of everybody. Ranbir and I were like, ‘If it’s a girl, it’ll be this, if it’s a boy, it’ll be this’.”
For the unversed, Alia Bhatt and Jr NTR worked in the movie, RRR, wherein the actor was one of the leads, and the actress played a supporting role. Alia, in the recent conversation, revealed that she was prepared to be ‘severely intimidated’ by Jr NTR on her first day but remained surprised with Jr NTR's personality. Alia Bhatt said that there was pin-drop silence after work hours, and she was shocked that everyone was not shouting. She also revealed that Jr NTR actually comforted her, and the thing she likes the most in the actor is that he is very unpredictable. In Alia's words:
"Contrary to what I had imagined, he wasn’t intimidating at all. He was very helpful. He was very quiet. In fact, I was so shocked at how quiet that set was. After ‘cut’, it was pin-drop silence, and I was like, ‘Why isn’t everybody screaming and shouting?’ I was nervous, but Taarak made me very comfortable. Whenever I would fumble, he would just naturally correct me. What I love about him as an actor is that he’s so unpredictable.”

The actress shared that Raha's name was chosen by her dadi, Neetu Kapoor, and it, in Swahili means joy. Raha, in Sanskrit, means clan, while in Bengali it refers to rest, comfort, and relief. Raha also means peace, happiness, freedom, and bliss in Arabic. Well, it's true that Raha's name was properly justified, as the little one filled her parents' life with love and light.
