Alia Bhatt Turns Heads At BAFTA Awards 2026 With Halter-Neck Gown, Credits Rekha For Her Beauty

Bollywood actress, Alia Bhatt is grabbing attention for all the right reasons. She is currently making headlines as she attended the prestigious BAFTA Awards 2026 as a presenter for the Best Film Not in the English Language category. Alia Bhatt stuns in a backless gown for BAFTA Awards 2026

For her debut appearance at the 79th BAFTA Awards, Alia Bhatt wore a custom silver sequin halter-neck backless gown by Gucci. It is worth mentioning that Alia is Gucci's first Indian global ambassador. The much-loved actress paired the backless gown with a sheer wrap, which was a tribute to icon, Marilyn Monroe. During a conversation with British Vogue, Alia Bhatt was quoted as saying:

"I was like, ‘Hey, it’s gonna be really cold and the dress is backless...I’m very excited about the look. Because I’m a presenter I wanted to bring the glam, but also keep it really elegant, nothing overwhelming. It sits really lightly on the body."

Further, Alia Bhatt spoke about her inspiration. She shared that while her look was inspired by Marilyn Monroe, her hair was a tribute to icon, Brigitte Bardot. Apart from this, she credited star, Monica Bellucci for her vibe and legendary Indian actor, Rekha for her beauty. For those who do not know, Marilyn Monroe was known for her iconic sheer wraps and look.

Alia Bhatt expresses her wish to Owen Cooper

During the same conversation, Alia Bhatt also expressed her wish to Owen Cooper. She stated that she has been obsessed with the much-loved series, Adolescence. Alia also described him as ‘special’ and shared that she wants to walk up to him and let him know that she is looking forward to all of his upcoming projects. Alia Bhatt shared:

"I’m just obsessed with Adolescence. He’s so special. He’s someone I would just walk up to and be like, Hey! I’m really looking forward to all of the work that you’ll do."

In her words:

"Afterwards I take the whole team for dinner – I like to sit with everybody and laugh and have a good time. And have a good meal! Whenever I’m happy and content, that’s always when I look my best – and that comes with the people you’re surrounded by, as opposed to feeling too pressurised about how you’re going to look."
