Aishwarya Rai broke a million of hearts when she said forever to her husband, Abhishek Bachchan. The duo tied the knot in a grand traditional Tulu wedding on April 20, 2007. Their wedding was straight out of a fairytale and was termed as one of the most lavish celebrations back in the day. During her wedding, Aishwarya was presented with a unique mangalsutra by her hubby, as a part of the tradition. It featured a long double-layered neckpiece with a unique diamond pendant at the end of it. The price of the mangalsutra was priced at a whooping amount of Rs 45 Lakhs.

Interestingly, after a few years of her wedding, Aishwarya was spotted donning the same mangalsutra for a public event where she styled herself in a white saree. However, her wedding mangalsutra looked a lot different from its original state, since Aishwarya had revamped it to suit her taste, especially after the birth of her daughter, Aaradhya, since reportedly, she did not wish to wear something heavy that would tamper her being a hassle-free mommy. She personalised it by shortening its long length and also by replacing the double string with a single one. Nevertheless, the jewellery still retained its charming beauty.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is often applauded for her impeccable fashion sense, and she never fails to impress everyone with her classic taste. For instance, her annual visit to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival reveals her evergreen style and on-point fashion statement, due to which she is unofficially hailed as the queen of Cannes. However, she appears to be entirely contrasting in simple and subtle outfits whenever she is papped doing her regular chores or stepping outside her home. “Aishwarya has her own personality, she has been an icon for years, she is always appropriately dressed so it's very easy for me as a stylist. I don't have to convince her to do anything—if it's an international red carpet event we go all out because she is representing a brand and herself—it's almost a form of art. Back home, she favours Indian designers and a more understated sense of style.”
Much like Aishwarya, it is her daughter, Aaradhya who appears to have imbibed some of her stunning features right from her young age, including uncanny facial resemblances as well as a humble nature. While her parents prefer to keep the little one out of unnecessary public limelight, she has often been spotted along with her mother making public appearances at various events. Moreover, she is also a mandatory companion for her mother whenever the latter jets off to the Cannes Film Festival. In one of Aishwarya’s earlier interviews, Aishwarya once spoke about the one beauty advice she would want to pass on to her darling daughter, Aaradhya and mentioned:
“The beauty advice I would pass on to my daughter is simple - always drink a lot of water, nourish your skin and hair with vitamin-rich food and keep it simple. I think the biggest learning I can give her is to be at peace with herself and be happy - that will make her a naturally beautiful human being, inside and out."

Despite flaunting the ability of carrying all of her looks to near perfection, Aishwarya has occasionally been a target of criticism from a section of the audience, who might have found some flaw in her style sense. However, Aishwarya has never been bothered about the same, and proof of the same was found when in an interview, she revealed her methods of dealing with fashion policing. She had mentioned:
“It is really about your perspective and your outlook, and I know that it is easier said than done for many and immensely tough for many, and that’s why I probably keep like a mantra going on that we have to be our own best friend. By that I mean, brutally honest with yourself and in doing so, we can self-help. We can self-heal and we can face and hold on to our own sense of self.”
