Unlike a conventional complicated portrayal of a nanad-bhabhi relationship on-screen, this sister-in-law duo shows the world that it’s possible to have a great equation with each other. Despite frequent conjectures about the troubles in their relationship and the awkwardness between them, Shweta and Aishwarya have time and again proved such speculations to be false. And yet again, Aishwarya and Shweta’s bonding was evident at Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s star-studded reception in Mumbai. On December 1, 2018, Deepika and Ranveer hosted their wedding reception in Mumbai, and the Bachchan clan sans Abhishek Bachchan graced the ceremony.

On Women's Day i.e March 8, 2018, Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to wish the beautiful day to the women in his life. He posted lovely pictures of wife Jaya Bachchan, daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda and granddaughters, Navya Nanda and Aaradhya Bachchan. But he missed out posting a picture of bahu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, which disappointed his fans.
Twitteratis slammed Big B for discriminating between the women in the family. Some comments could be read as, “Not fair, I’m not sure why you did not include Aishwarya, she deserves to be in one of the frame”, “This is not fair. Not mentioning Aishwarya Rai. This doesn’t suit the legendary position that you hold sir. Be it any personal family issues, you shouldn’t have done this on a public platform and that too on Women’s Day.” (Also Read: Jaya Bachchan Gossiping With Shweta Bachchan Nanda At MxS Launch Is Every Mother-Daughter Duo Ever)
