The lone survivor of the Air India plane crash, Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, has been taking psychiatric help as he is in trauma.

Air India Plane Crash Survivor, Vishwas Kumar In Trauma Takes Psychiatric Help, 'He Does Not Talk..'

Vishwas Kumar Ramesh has been the luckiest man alive who became the lone survivor of the  Air India Boeing 787-8 plane crash. It was on June 12, 2025, when the aircraft was headed to London from Ahmedabad International Airport but crashed shortly after takeoff. 241 passengers, along with the crew and Vishwa's brother, Ajay and 34 others on the ground, were killed. Luck favoured Vishwas; however, reportedly, he is in trauma and is taking psychiatric help.

Vishwas is unable to cope with the trauma of the plane crash, which was one of the horrific ones in the history of the Indian aviation industry. He was the only one who walked out alive like a lion from the ill-fated London-Ahmedabad crash. He is taking the help of a psychiatrist to cope with the trauma, as reported by his cousin to the publication. Vishwa's cousin narrated:

"Many people, including our relatives living abroad, call us to inquire about Vishwas's well-being. But he does not talk to anyone. He is yet to overcome the mental trauma of the crash and the death of his brother."

Vishwas, at the moment, is completely devastated and wakes up in the middle of the night and finds it very difficult to get back to sleep. He was seated on seat number 11 A, which was near the emergency exit and was the lone survivor of the crash. Vishwa's cousin, Sunny, shared that his brother is not going to London anytime soon, as his treatment with the psychiatrist has just started. In his words:

"We took him to a psychiatrist two days ago to find remedy. He has not made any plans yet to return to London because his treatment has just begun."

Although for Vishwas, the nightmare of the attack just does not seem to end. He became the lone survivor, which was miraculous, and the loss he faced was beyond words. However, his battle with coping with the trauma has not been easy for Vishwas as her is haunted by the memories that have been giving him sleepless nights.

When Vishwas Ramesh Kumar remembered what happened before the aeroplane attack

It was on June 17, 2025, when Vishwas got discharged from the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. It was the same day when his family got the body of his brother, Ajay, after a DNA match. Both brothers were heading back to London after they visited their family in Diu, which is a part of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Recounting how he saved his life, Vishwas, in an interview with Doordarshan, shared:

'"Luckily, the portion of the plane where I was seated fell on the ground floor of the [medical college] hostel premises after the plane crash-landed. When I saw that the door was broken, I told myself that I can try and get out. Eventually, I came out."

A day after Vishwas got discharged from the hospital, it was on June 18, 2025, when Vishwas was seen carrying the mortal remains of his bhai, Ajay, with grief in his heart and an everlasting shock in his mind.
