According to the report from the same outlet, the end of each episode of the competition is accompanied by a disclaimer stating that the total amount of USD 1 million is payable in a financial annuity over 40 years, or alternatively, the winners can receive the cash value of such an annuity. The disclaimer reportedly reads:

"The prize, which totals $1,000,000, is payable in a financial annuity over 40 years, or the contestant may choose to receive the present cash value of such annuity."

The TV Insider article further added that if the amount of USD 1 million is divided by 40 years, it comes to 25,000 dollars each year before taxes. And the winners can also request to take the full amount, but then, the entire amount won't be USD 1 million, once interest rates are factored in.
