It is well said that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder! A few days ago, close to 150 guests attended a unique wedding in D’Silva Technical College in Mumbai. An acid attack survivor, Lalitha Bansi found the man of her dreams through a missed call and today they ae married!

Lalitha considers her chance encounter with her husband to be a miracle! She said:
“Miracles do happen! Who would have thought an acid attack and 17 surgeries later, I would find love. But it happened. And it all started with a wrong number. Shankar taught me to believe in love. It is a fresh start.”
Lalitha’s life took an ugly turn when her cousins threw acid on her in 2012 over a family dispute. She has so far undergone 17 surgeries and 12 more surgeries are left. After this incident, she found solace in her husband and her life changed because of a missed call!
Interesting, isn’t it? How can a wrong number help you find true love? Well, Lalitha’s elated husband, Ravishankar Singh explains, how he met his wife. He explained:
“I received a missed call from a wrong number, and it changed my life”

That missed call was from Lalitha. He called her back and the two began talking. Their conversations on phone soon turned into love. Talking further about their love story, he said:
“She said she didn’t deserve me, and told me about the scarring attack. But even without seeing her, I knew I wanted to be with her, looks didn’t matter.”
Well said Ravishankar, if love is true, looks don’t matter. He further added:
“I liked her from the beginning. I had to only convince my mother to accept my choice. I had to make Lalita believe that she too had the right to a better life.”
The couple decided to tie the knot and it was a beautiful ceremony attended by actor Vivek Oberoi, Congress MLA Nitish Rane and other important people from Mumbai.
The wedding was funded and organised by Udyami Maharashtra, a business forum. From venue, décor and catering to jewellery, everything was provided by the members of the organisation. They also gifted the couple a honeymoon package.

The bride, Lalitha was blushing in her ornate lehengas designed especially by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The designer duo also gifted her the necklace that she wore on her D-day. She was looking beautiful and graceful on her special day. Their marriage was registered by Saahas foundation in Thane court on April 13.
Lalita is working with Saahas foundation which has a small business of mangoes. Her husband runs a small business of his own. Lalita will soon undergo a surgery after which the newlyweds are planning to move into their new house, gifted by Vivek Oberoi. Vivek has also decided to pay for her further surgeries!
