The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 3 reunion has delivered everything views expected it to bring. Whether it was chaos, confrontations, and confessions, we got to see a bit of everything in the reunion. However, amid all the drama, viewers were surprised when not everyone who was supposed to be part of the reunion showed up. The special episode reunion opened with nine women and several DadTok members ready to discuss and conclude one of the most dramatic seasons yet. But after a few minutes, some cast members were absent, others refused to join, leaving the remaining ones in the strict spotlight.
According to Hulu, all nine women featured in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives 3, including Jen Affleck, Demi Engemann, Whitney Leavitt, Mikayla Matthews, Mayci Neeley, Jessi Ngatikaura, Taylor Frankie Paul, Layla Taylor, and Miranda Hope, were officially present at the reunion. However, not all the men showed up on time. Dakota Mortensen was missing at the beginning after refusing to appear with the group following s**ting allegations leveled against him in the season's finale.

Meanwhile, things backstage were equally tense. Several husbands, including Bret Engemann, Conner Leavitt, Zac Affleck, Jordan Ngatikaura, Jace Terry, and Jacob Neeley, had separate heated arguments, which delayed their entry onto the stage. Although every main cast member eventually arrived, the reunion was full of entries and exits.

The third big shift came when Stassi announced that one participant would only join the reunion if the entire MomTok cast left the stage. The person was none other than Dakota Mortensen. According to People and Hulu's broadcast, Dakota had agreed to appear only if Taylor and the other women were removed from his segment. It led to an unusual pause, where Stassi asked the women to return to their dressing rooms, creating an awkward moment since the reunion was meant for the cast to gather at once. Moreover, when the DadTok group entered shortly, they looked unsure about how long the separate interviews would last.

The reason behind Dakota's absence was clear: he wanted distance from Taylor to discuss their complicated history. Alongside, he needed a calmer environment before he could open up about the allegations tied to their breakup. Due to concerns about confrontation, he initially absented himself and later refused to join the group. According to TMZ's sources, a DadTok argument broke out backstage over the Italy trip and Marciano Brunette's alleged connections to two cast members, which had arisen before they even entered the studio. Consequently, the men were seated separately to cool them down before they could join the women on the stage. Despite the presence of all the women, there was a mid-reunion exit solely due to Dakota's health conditions, with no incident of personal refusal.
