Udaariyaan actor, Abhishek Kumar bagged the first runner-up trophy of Bigg Boss 17. Throughout the game, Abhishek captivated audiences with his remarkable journey. While his fans felt he was the deserving winner of the show, his co-contestant and close friend, Munawar Faruqui became the show's first rank holder. Talking about Abhishek's journey inside the BB house, he initially hit the headlines for his confrontations with his ex-girlfriend, Isha Maviya and her present boyfriend, Samarth Jurel. And this had led to Abhishek showing his extremely aggressive side. However, we all witnessed a gradual change in Abhishek's attitude when he was seen in a calmer and relaxed form at the show's end.
In an interview with ETimes TV, Abhishek Kumar opened up about his journey in Bigg Boss 17 house and his post-show transformation. According to Abhishek, he felt that inside the BB house, he was grilled by the guests, so much so that he was unable to understand if the makers of the show were trying to make him understand his mistakes or scaring him. However, when he made it to the Top 2, he assured himself by saying that he must have done something right, for which he was in that position. Afterwards, talking about closing the chapter of his ex-girlfriend, Isha Malviya, from his life forever, Abhishek said:

"I was ready to close the chapter of Isha Malviya in my life. When Bigg Boss told Munawar and me to come out of the house by switching off the light, I decided that moment itself to leave everything there and forget Isha and the entire topic. I don’t want to get distracted now and want to move ahead in life and career. I don’t want to talk about anything related to her and just want to focus on good things."

In the same conversation, Abhishek hinted at taking therapy post exiting the show. However, he also mentioned that Isha's exit from his life was itself a therapy for him. He mentioned how Isha's eviction from the show had calmed him, and he became relaxed. Not only that, but he also mentioned how the makers of the show gave him a chance to confront things with Isha, and later, he was forced to become a better human being. He added:
"I don’t plan to take any therapy. Initially, I felt I needed to take therapy to get better but later on I realised that Isha's exit from my life was a therapy for me. After she left I became quite calm. I did Bekaaboo also and I was very relaxed and calm during that time. Everything was going great but when I came inside the house, the situation got out of hand, my past came in front of me and my real nature started to come out. I tried to calm myself a lot but my real nature used to come out. So I’m not going to take any therapy because the Bigg Boss house has helped me, it was therapy for me and they forced me to become a better human being. I want to maintain this ahead in life also and want to be a good person."
Abhishek was then asked if he would be cordial with Samarth and Isha, outside the BB house. To this, he answered in affirmation and mentioned that although he will not keep any relations with them, but they will be cordial. In Abhishek's words:
"Yes, I will be cordial with Isha and Samarth. I won’t like to keep any relations with both of them. There will be no bonding or any relations. I don’t want to be on talking terms with them."

Earlier, a few journalists had entered the BB house to grill the contestants, and even Abhishek was asked about defending physical violence against women. Not only that, since Abhishek had once mentioned how he was trying to console Munawar as he was very low after Ayesha Khan entered the show and opened up many such false hopes of love given by the BB17 winner, the former also got some wrath for the same. However, while answering the questions, Abhishek added that people make mistakes, and everyone can mistakenly cheat or hit a woman. The journalist immediately schooled him and said that these things should never be normalised, even when done by mistake. Abhishek countered that what’s done is done, and one should not bring up past mistakes.
