On June 12, 2020, Abhishek Bachchan took to his Instagram handle and posted a beautiful video remembering the beautiful year, 2002 of his acting career. In the animated video, we can see the posters of the movies he did that year but the actor picked the film, Desh as the highlight of 2002. The reason behind this is slightly special for the actor as he had shared the screen for the first time with his mother and actress, Jaya Bachchan. Narrating the story of his experience, Abhishek Bachchan wrote a long caption that can be read as “Year- 2002 A year of many firsts!!! But the top would be getting to be part of a film with my mother. Desh was a Bengali film she was acting in (directed by Raja Sen). I was in Kolkata for a function when she called me and asked me to visit her. She was shooting near Siliguri in West Bengal. I did. And ended up doing a small cameo as her on-screen son. The other would be, being directed by one of my acting teachers, my guru. @anupampkher Om Jai Jagdish was Anupam uncle’s 1st film as a director. He helped me immensely in “opening up as an actor” and shedding my “awkwardness”. One of the best teachers I’ve ever had!”
Over the years, Abhishek Bachchan has expressed his immense respect and gratitude towards his mother, Jaya Bachchan, who has been with him in his life’s most important moments. However, the actor had revealed in his interview with the Hindustan Times that his mother gangs-up with his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan whenever he fights-up with his wifey. He had revealed, “Ma and Ash gang up against me and they keep rattling on in Bengali. (Laughs) Mom knows the language because she is Bengali and Aishwarya had worked with Rituda (the late Rituparno Ghosh) in Chokher Bali, so she also can speak the language quite well. So whenever they have to team up against me, they start talking in Bengali.” (Don't Miss: Asin's Daughter, Arin Is The Cutest 'Wizard' Of B-Town, No Wonder Her Superpower Is To Make Us Smile)
