Famous Bollywood singer, Abhijeet Bhattacharya has been making headlines ever since he openly expressed his hurt and criticised Shah Rukh Khan for never giving him credit for his success due to hit songs sung by him. Not only this, Abhijeet Bhattacharya is also known for expressing his honest opinions without mincing his words. And there was a time when he strongly criticised singers performing at a wedding. He even locked horns with Neha Kakkar for the same. Now, Abhijeet Bhattacharya seemed to have changed his words by expressing his wish to perform at a wedding.
Recently, Abhijeet Bhattacharya was invited to the singing reality show, Indian Idol 15. During his appearance, he made an unexpected promise to a young singer to sing at her wedding. This comes as a shock, as Abhijeet was highly against the concept of singers performing at weddings.
In the special episode, Abhijeet Bhattacharya arrived with Lalit Pandit, Sadhna Sargam, and Sumati Bhattacharya. During the show, a contestant, Mansai raised a question about Abhijeet's past comment on singers performing at weddings, hinting at his viral video, wherein he strongly criticised them.
Abhijeet tried his best to respond to it as politely as he could. He, in a lighthearted tone, asked how much everyone would scold him for the comment. Abhijeet further confessed that he didn't sing at his own wedding as he thought the atmosphere wasn't suitable. Due to the same frustration, his father-in-law didn't give him money to tailor the suit. This comes as a shock. Abhijeet was quoted as saying:
"How much will you all scold me? Let me tell you the truth—I didn’t sing at my own wedding because the atmosphere wasn’t right. And in that moment of frustration that I wasn’t singing at my own wedding, my father-in-law didn’t give me money for my suit tailoring!"
Abhijeet further promised the young singer that he would definitely sing at her wedding with a band. He said:

"At weddings, there should be soulful songs, but I will definitely sing at your wedding with a band. I, Lalit, Vishal, and Shreya will sing."
Earlier, when he was invited to a singing reality show, of which Neha Kakkar was also a part, Abhijeet got into a heated conversation with her. An old clip had made rounds on the internet, in which he expressed that he doesn't like singers performing at weddings. Further justifying his statement, he claimed that it diminishes their status. He added that if someone ever asked him to perform in a wedding, he would straight away deny it. He said:
"Koi bhi paisa diya or shaadi mey gaane lage, usme aukaat kum hojaati hai. Meri aukaat hai, mai bol deta hu, mai nahi gaunga. Duniya ki koi taakat tumhe khareed nahi sakti."
