Love on the Spectrum viewers watched Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman fall in love on the show. The couple, who shared similar conditions like autism and synesthesia, bonded really well, and they kind of fell head over heels in love with each other after their first date at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

In July 2025, the couple celebrated their anniversary. However, since December 2025, the couple barely posted anything about or with each other, and also they were rarely spotted together, which raised questions about whether they split. On April 9, 2026, reports claimed that the much-beloved couple actually parted ways. While David and Abbey are yet to make any comment about the same, the sources revealed that the breakup happened due to a marriage disagreement.

As per the sources, David Isaacman and Abbey Romeo have broken up because they were not on the same page about getting married. The source also revealed that David was 'doing well'.

Amid this, one of Abbey's old interviews made rounds on social media, wherein she shared where she and David stand when it comes to their marriage. She, while appearing on the We Need To Talk podcast, shared that she loves David, but 'he doesn't want to get married'. She also shared that there's a difference because she wants to get married, but she doesn't know when, thus, she decided not to rush it because she wants to take time. She also reportedly mentioned in the podcast that she wants a boyfriend to 'feel normal'.

Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman were one of the much-loved couples on the show, and thus, viewers hoped that they would get married next to Madison Marilla and Tyler White. Well, the duo didn't walk on the road as one of them was ready, the other was not. If the reports are to be believed, back in April 2025, when season 4's first episode came out, David and Abbey were asked about their wedding plans. To this, David reportedly said that they were still together but not ready for marriage.

Abbey, on the other hand, mentioned that she thought they would marry after her honorary stepdads moved out. Abbey further added that she felt that she and David both were married at their hearts, while stating that not everyone gets married. Abbey further mentioned that she and David were too young to marry, to which the latter agreed. Abbey also expressed her fear of being divorced like her parents.

When Tyler and Madison got engaged, Abbey had hoped that she would be the next one in the row to say 'Yes' when the ring would be presented to her by her beau with the question, 'Will you marry me?' However, it was David, who back then said that he and Abbey could only get engaged when the time would be right. The couple's breakup came as a heartbreak to their fans. Well, their representatives haven't yet commented on their split.
