Aaryan, the recently released crime thriller starring Vishnu Vishal, has made its way to OTT. For the unversed, the film was digitally released on November 28, 2025, on Netflix. The film created a huge buzz just before its theatrical release on October 31, 2025. However, the film, reportedly made on a budget of Rs. 25 crores, could collect only Rs. 5.1 crore worldwide. While people guessed that Selvaraghavan bagged the biggest paycheck, it was not. He allegedly took home Rs. 1 crore.

Plotline of Vishnu Vishal's Aaryan

For the uninitiated, Aaryan is the directorial debut of Praveen K. The Tamil crime thriller focuses on a middle-aged struggling writer who has planned a dangerous series of crimes. To spread panic throughout the city, the writer hijacked a live TV show, and announced his shocking plan involving a crime series. The sudden announcement created tensions as the mysterious serial killer mentioned that five crimes would take place and the victim’s identity would be revealed just an hour before the attack.

When panic spreads throughout the city, a brave police officer, DCP 'Arivudai Nambi' (played by Vishnu Vishal), comes to the rescue. He takes over the case and gets into a mission to catch the mysterious man who is plotting a series of crimes. As 'Arivudai' delves deeper into the serial killing case, he gets entangled with it personally. However, the climax holds an emotional backstory and clearly states the reason behind the series of crimes. Vishnu Vishal’s film, Aaryan, is a beautiful mix of action, suspense and emotions.

Vishnu Vishal makes a comeback as a sole lead actor

Vishnu Vishal made a comeback as a solo lead actor after a three-year hiatus with the crime thriller, Aaryan. Taking to his X handle (formerly Twitter), Vishnu shared a lengthy note, expressing gratitude to every team member attached to his film. He especially thanked the director, Praveen, for believing in him. An excerpt of his note can be read as:

"It's been three years since I've had a release as a solo lead, and Aaryan feels like the right film to make that return. because it's everything I've been waiting for: intense, fresh, and unlike anything I've done before. My heartfelt thanks to my director Praveen, who waited patiently through my other commitments and never lost faith in this project. His belief and clarity have shaped Aaryan into the gripping thriller it is today."
