Kriti Sanon and Dhanush's upcoming film, Tere Ishk Mein, directed by Aanand L Rai is generating a lot of buzz because of its trailer, which was released a few weeks ago. For the unversed, Tere Ishk Mein is scheduled to release on November 28, 2025, in theatres. Apart from the buzz, some fans also compared the upcoming film to Ranbir Kapoor's Animal. Well, the director of the film has finally addressed those noises.
Recently, popular filmmaker, Aanand L Rai sat down for an interview with The Hindu, during which the director shared that the anger and rage of the main character is similar to films like Kabir Singh and Animal, but there are no other similarities. He also denied the chatter around calling Dhanush’s character an ‘alpha male’. He was quoted as saying:
"It doesn't belong in the same space. There are similarities in how the characters have aggression and rage. But those are just the ingredients and not the story. A story is never conceived thinking of your character as an alpha. For me, the character is emotional and sensitive, and nothing that he does is wrong."

During the same interview with The Hindu, Aanand L Rai also opened up about his strong bond with South superstar, Dhanush. For the unversed, Tere Ishk Mein is the third collaboration between Aanand and Dhanush, after films like Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re. Talking about the bond, Aanand shared that Dhanush is now like a son to him. In his words:
"When we first worked together, Dhanush was no more than an actor. Over the years, I can say, now I have a son. We are selfish people who are together for some reason. If you discover a relationship that goes beyond just working in films, it is magical. My profession has given me something very personal."

Tere Ishk Mein, directed by Aanand L Rai is an intense love story starring Kriti Sanon as 'Mukti' and Dhanush as 'Shankar'. At its core, the film explores a fierce love story between 'Shankar' and 'Mukti', that begins from college days and ends into heartbreak, anger and revenge. The trailer shows a journey from bike rides and campus scenes to dark scenes like burning down the city, crashing wedding ceremony and obsessive nature. Some fans also feel that Tere Ishk Mein is the spiritual sequel of Raanjhanaa. The film is all set to release on November 28, 2025.

Dhanush is one of South India's most versatile and celebrated actors, filmmakers, lyricist and singer. While he works mostly in Tamil cinema, he has appeared in both Hindi and Telugu projects as well. Over the years, Dhanush has appeared in films like Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Maryan, Vada Chennai and more. Dhanush has also won the National Award for Best Actor twice, one in 2010 and another in 2019. In his personal life, he was married to Rajinikanth's daughter, Aishwaryaa. The two also had two sons, Yatra and Lingaa. However, after staying together for 18 long years, the duo announced their separation in 2022, and later filed a divorce.
