Aamir Khan, also known as Mr. Perfectionist in Bollywood, has always been admired for his wonderful acting, versatile roles, and attention to detail. Fans witnessed another side of the actor's personality when he actively supported his son, Junaid, who debuted in Bollywood last year. For the past few months, Aamir was excited and nervous about his son's theatrical debut with Loveyapa. But, when the film was released a couple of weeks ago, it failed to impress audiences at the box office. In a new interview, Aamir Khan opened up about the same.

Aamir Khan admits he was hurt after Loveyapa's failure

Aamir Khan was one of the biggest cheerleaders for his son, Junaid Khan's film, Loveyapa, co-starring Khushi Kapoor. He recently sat down for an interview with ABP News and discussed the film's poor box office performance. The Laal Singh Chaddha actor admitted he was hurt since his son's film didn't do well. For those unaware, Aamir was present at Loveyapa's trailer launch, went to promote the film on the Bigg Boss 18 finale's set, and hosted a special screening for the film too. In his words:

He also recalled that he was more nervous about his son's film's release than he used to be for his projects in the past. Citing an example, the Dangal actor mentioned that as the film's release came closer, he used to sit down and anxiously stare out of the window, thinking about the film. Aamir explained:

“Main dur se dekh raha hun lekin mera dil dhadak raha hai”

Aamir Khan had quit smoking ahead of Loveyapa's release

When Aamir Khan arrived at Loveyapa's trailer launch event, he discussed his nervousness as a father over his son's film. During his interaction, the actor made a shocking announcement and revealed that he loves smoking despite knowing it's not good for his health. But he left that habit for the sake of his son, Junaid and his film. He stated:

“Ye (smoking) achhi aadat nahi hai. Ye nahi karna chahiye. Aur mere liye ye wajah bhi thi, mere liye achhi timing bhi thi. Mujhe lagta tha mujhe chhodna bhi hai, mere bete ka career shuru ho raha hai. Maine apne dil mein ek mannat maangi. Main chhod raha hu, chahe chale ya na chale, main apni taraf se ek cheez kar raha hu.”
