Aamir Khan Announces 'Happy Patel' With A Chaotic Interaction With Vir Das, Fans Say, 'I'm Seated..'

Vir Das stepped into the director's chair for Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, which was announced on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. The film, which sees Aamir Khan as producer, used a unique video style to make the announcement. Instead of just sharing a teaser, the makers dropped a short skit in which Aamir Khan is seen beating up Vir Das for making a 'flop' spy film in his directorial debut. The hilarious video also sees Vir being asked to stick to stand-up comedy and being rebuked for turning into an 'item girl'.

The video begins with Aamir Khan beating up Vir Das. However, soon we are taken back in time where the actor is already frustrated with the comic, Vir, about making a 'flop film'. He calls him out for making a film that lacks decent action or a love track. Aamir further tells Vir to stick with stand-up as filmmaking is out of his zone. Aamir further mentions there's no action in the film, to which Vir claims there was, but Aamir interrupts him, saying that Vir being beaten up the entire film wasn't action.

Aamir mentions that the film's romance is all about the heroine slapping him, and Vir responds that everybody loves dominance in 2025, but Aamir glares at him. He's then asked why he decided to turn into an 'item girl' himself rather than have a proper special number. Vir also tells him he made an offbeat film, but Aamir claims he says that just in interviews. When Vir brings up Laal Singh Chaddha being a flop, he gets beaten up by the actor for bringing up the film, saying:

"Ek film kya flop bana di, sab peeche padh gaye."

However, to their surprise, the audience walks out of the hall and applauds, startling the actor at first. Nonetheless, he soon pretends everything is alright and even claims that everything he scolded Vir for was actually his idea all along. As for the film itself, a brief glimpse hints at Happy Patel, starring Aamir and Imran Khan. The chaotic energy is evident in the seconds' worth of visuals, making the fans excited for an actual trailer.

Soon enough, the video was posted on the discussion platform, Reddit, and fans started chiming in to share their views on the upcoming film. A user wrote, "Finally, a break from such intense films lately, excited for this." A comment read, "Now, that's an excellent way to promote." A user penned, "Lol, what is this? I'm intrigued. I know Maamu's been a little cringe lately, but I can't lie, his DGAF era is entertaining." 

Another user took to the discussion platform and wrote, "Omg, finally something fun from BW? Please be good." A comment read, "Looks definitely fun, if the film is funny like this skit, then I will finally get a funny film which has organic comedy and not forced slapstick comedy of the 80s." However, not everyone was convinced by the skit. A user wrote, "Aamir ne pura personality hi self-deprecating humor ka bana liya hai, which looks so forced btw."

Aamir Khan Productions is producing the quirky spy film, Happy Patel, starring Vir Das and Mona Singh. The film also marks Vir's directorial debut.
