From Charging Rs 20 To 1L, How Celeb Hairdresser Aalim Found Success, Says 'Khud Ke Baal Nakli Hai'

Aalim is a famous celebrity hairdresser who has styled several A-listers' hair, be it actors or cricketers. The way he gives makeovers to our favourite stars is simply incredible. Another reason, Aalim often grabs attention is his jaw-dropping charges. For the unversed, Aalim charges Rs. 1 lakh for cutting celebrities' hair, and it's just the start, that too without the taxes. Well, this hasn't been the same always rather, Aalim's initial charges were very minimal. Recently, he revealed his success story.

Celebrity hairdresser, Aalim Hakim lost his father when he was only nine years old

Aalim Hakim recently sat for an interview with Mamaraazzi, wherein he was asked about his story. He shared that his father was India's first pioneer hairdresser, and he was the one to give Amitabh Bachchan his iconic haircut, which was featured in movies like Zanjeer, Sholay, Don, and others. Aalim said that his father died at the age of 39, and he was only 9 years old. Aalim's father only had Rs. 13 saved in his bank when he died and there was nothing, so Aalim had to make up his mind to work hard to make it huge. So, it's pretty clear that Aalim followed in his father's footsteps and shined like the brightest diamond.

During the same conversation, the interviewer asked how Aalim Hakim handles the questions when people ask him about styling people's hair, while he himself doesn't have any hair. Aalim so proudly replied that he has no problem admitting that he has no hair and it is actually a wig that is being shown. In the same interview, Aalim said that his first fee was Rs. 20 for hair cutting to Rs. 30 for hair shampooing and cutting, and after he made his shop air-conditioned, he buffed up the charges to Rs. 50-75.

Aalim said that after his fee increased, a lot of his clients left him, saying he was charging a lot. He further mentioned that he works in several film industries, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi along with the cricketers as the hairdresser. Talking about his current fee, Aalim said that the charges begin from Rs. 1 lakh, excluding taxes and it goes up to a lot.

Earlier, in Manish Paul’s podcast, Aalim Hakim said that he wanted to take forward his father's name, and thus the brand's name. Explaining it, he said that his father was Hakim, and he's Aalim, so he combined the name and made it a brand. Despite initial struggles and a lot of criticism, Aalim Hakim didn't stop to fulfil his dream. Well, his dreams were fulfilled.
