Aadesh Shrivastava was one of the best-known music composers and playback singers who worked in the Indian film industry. He started his journey as a drummer for musical legend, R.D. Burman, and later gave life to songs like Say 'Shava Shava', O Dharti Tarse Amber Barse, More Piya, Ae Mausam, and Dil Ne Phir Yaad Kiya. The composer died of cancer in 2015. However, now almost a decade after his demise, the singer is in the news once again, as his son, Anivesh, has been named in a car accident at a chowk named after the late singer.
Late composer, Aadesh Shrivastava's younger son, Anivesh, was allegedly involved in a road accident in the early hours of November 23, 2025. According to reports, the accident occurred in Mumbai's Lokhandwala area in the early hours of Sunday morning. It has been alleged that a Range Rover belonging to the Shrivastava family was rammed into a divider and a statue installed at the crossing, toppling it over. Interestingly, the statue was of the late composer and his father, Aadesh, as the chowk in question had been named after him a few years ago.

The incident came to light after Jagrut Maharashtra News reported that a red Range Rover with a Haryana license plate rammed into the divider in Lokhandwala on the morning of November 23, 2025. The pictures from the site showed the damaged divider and a completely destroyed installation at the crossing. The report stated the car was registered to Vijayta Pandit, Aadesh Shrivastava's wife.

Aadesh Shrivastava's younger son, Anivesh, came into the limelight regarding the accident after pictures of the young man were shared on social media. Several pictures shared on social media from the accident site show Anivesh, Aadesh Shrivastava, and Vijayata Pandit's younger son, standing next to the car. So far, it is unclear whether a police complaint has been filed in the case.

A Reddit post claimed that the chowk was the same one named after Aadesh Shrivastava a few years ago. Anivesh, Vijayta, and the composer's older son, Avitesh, had attended the renaming ceremony. The post shared on Reddit soon flooded with comments from the netizens. They ranged from shock to humour with a user saying, "
Iske baap ki road hai kya? Oh..." Another penned, "This is insane. Is this a deliberate act or just bad luck?"

While many questioned whether it was an accident or a deliberate act. Others defended the young man, saying that grief can look different for everyone. A user in a long note said:
"Ramming the vehicle into your dead father’s statue doesn’t look like your average spoiled brat behaviour event. Grief is...complicated. Just because it's been 10 years doesn’t make it easier for the kids, especially when they were barely in their teens/young adults when it happened. This guy might be going through some stuff. I’m not justifying his behaviour, but I can maybe understand where he’s coming from. Thank god no one got hurt. I just hope he gets the help and support he needs."

Aadesh Shrivastava was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and underwent treatment, including chemotherapy. In 2015, his cancer relapsed a third time, leading to hospitalisation. He died on September 5, 2015, 5 days after his 51st birthday. His final film as a composer, Welcome Back, was released the same week.
