The world of 'Westeros' is calling once again, and the fans of Game of Thrones have got another reason to celebrate. After the success of House of the Dragon, HBO is all set to release the prequel of GOT, which is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is set a century before the events of Game of Thrones. As the release is generating a lot of buzz on social media, read on to know about the release date of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms in India.
On October 9, 2025, HBO released the trailer of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and it is a clear invitation back to 'Westeros'. The trailer sets up a story of events that took place 100 years before the events of Game Of Thrones. The trailer opens with 'Ser Duncan' (Peter Claffey) burying a mentor. The trailer shows a mix of medieval action, knightly training, and character-driven storytelling.
Unlike the battles and high-stakes in GOT, this prequel focuses on showing a lighter and more grounded adventure. It also shows the life of 'Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall', a hedge knight learning the ropes of knighthood. Viewers can expect fighting scenes, training sequences and challenges 'Dunk' faced.
Apart from 'Dunk', the trailer also features a young squire, 'Egg' (Dexter Sol Ansell), whose true identity as 'Aegon Targaryen' is hidden from the world. The show is expected to show the early life of these two characters, when they navigate hurdles and step into different adventures. Another moment that stood out in the trailer is when 'Dunk' is mistaken for 'Baelor Targaryen' (Bertie Carvel), hinting at both humour and tension in the series.
Along with the powerful trailer of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, HBO Max also announced the release date of the show. The show will be released on January 18, 2026, on HBO Max and in India, the show will be released the next day (January 19, 2016) on JioHotstar. For the unversed, House of the Dragon was the first prequel of GOT and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be the second prequel of it.
