#1. Be on time

The one thing to ensure that everything on your wedding day falls in place is, being on time. Anchal Verma, who got married last week, says, “I reached two hours late at the parlour. I got really tensed about getting ready and reaching the venue on time. That messed up everything as it pressurised my makeup artists and I even started crying. So, my advice is to avoid such delays and reach the parlour on appointed time. Just relax and let the makeup artists do their work.”

The idea here is that when everything will be done as per the plan, there will be no signs of worry on your face. So, be on time and simply relieve your mind of all the worries and nervousness.

#2. Use the washroom beforehand

Weddings are long and all eyes are always on the bride. Once the bride enters the wedding venue, it becomes really difficult for her to leave the stage, even for a few minutes. So, you should go to the washroom before you leave the parlour. Besides, the heavy wedding attire makes it all the more unmanageable as well as uncomfortable to use the washroom. Annalia Zhimomi, a freelance makeup artist says, “It is just a pain to use the washroom in a grand outfit. Hence, the bride should go to the washroom once before she starts getting ready.”

#3. Dress up comfortably

“Check your neckline, can-can, and dupatta before leaving the parlour. Just make sure you are absolutely comfortable in your outfit,” advises Suman Joshi, stylist at the Naturals salon. Annalia also gives a suggestion based on her experience and says, “Make sure that the lehenga is tied tight enough and there is sufficient dupatta fabric from your head to shoulder. Also, do not forget to fluff the can-can to ensure that it is fully flared.” The slightly loose dupatta would allow you to move your head in all directions with ease.

Check that your lipstick has not been smudged after wearing the nath. Also, check that the lipstick has not stained your teeth. Lastly, remember to apply the perfume.”

Well, having said that, you must also keep in mind that no amount of makeup can make you look beautiful unless you feel confident about yourself. “So, ensure that you are happy with your look.
