The results of the 67th National Film Awards are officially announced on October 25, 2021. While the award for Best Feature Film was given to critically-acclaimed filmmaker, Priyadarshan's Malayalam epic film, Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea, the Best Hindi Film award went to the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's film, Chhichhore. Talking about individual awards, then the Best Actor award was shared by Manoj Bajpayee and Dhanush for their stellar performances in Bhosle and Asuran, respectively.
The Award for Best Actress was given to Bollywood actress, Kangana Ranaut for portraying the role of the late legendary queen, Lakshami Bai, in her autobiographical drama, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and also for her film, Panga. The Best Director Award was grabbed by the visionary director, Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, for his film, Bahattar Hoorain. Also, the South Indian superstar, Rajinikanth was honoured at the award ceremony with the honourary Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his immense contribution to the Indian film industry in a career spanning five decades. It was a special moment for him, as his son-in-law, Dhanush, also picked the Best Actor Award in front of him.

After Dhanush received the prestigious Best Actor Award from the vice-president, Venkaiah Naidu, at the 67th National Film Awards, a video of his sons, Linga and Yathra's reaction left the internet in meltdown. In the video clip, Dhanush's sons looked super-happy and can be seen clapping while their father was receiving the prestigious award. We can also spot Dhanush's wife, Aishwarya R Dhanush, who looked gorgeous and super-proud to see her husband receiving the National Award. Furthermore, in the priceless clip, we can see Dhanush's in-laws, Rajinikanth and his wife, Latha Rajnikanth, sitting and watching their son-in-law getting honoured with the honorary award.

Apart from his professional success, not many people know Dhanush's real-life love story with his wife, Aishwarya R Dhanush, which is not less than a typical Indian romantic film. There were reports that Rajnikanth's daughter, Aishwarya, was a good friend of Dhanush's sister. After a series of dating reports, their families had thought that this match was a good one and had arranged their marriage.

Dhanush and Aishwarya have an age difference of two years which didn't go well with the conservative cult, but Dhanush had expressed that he has no problem in marrying a woman older than him. Dhanush and Aishwarya's wedding had taken place on November 18, 2004. The venue was Rajnikanth's house. It has been more than 15 years that the couple has been married, and they have only grown more in love with each other.

On October 10, 2006, they had welcomed their first son, Yatra Raja, and on June 21, 2010, they had welcomed their second son, Linga Raja and had completed their family.
