Zareen Khan REACTS To Claims Of Showing Katrina In Bad Light With Her Viral Video, 'Found It Sad..'

Zareen Khan's introduction to Bollywood was anything but silent. She made her debut with Salman Khan's Veer in 2010, and her similar looks to Katrina Kaif became talk of the town. Since then, Zareen has always found herself being treated as a shadow of Katrina Kaif. The latter never spoke about the debate, but Zareen has time and again explained how she admires Katrina. Still, it did not stop the debate. Recently, the Hate Story 3 actress shared an old video of meeting Katrina back in 2008 to share her fan-girl moment, but again, it brought criticism for Katrina reigniting their comparisons. Zareen has now shared her views on the whole situation.

Zareen Khan opens up about Katrina Kaif getting trolled in her viral video

Zareen Khan has unintentionally sparked the comparisons debate between her and Katrina Kaif. She shared an old video on her Instagram handle where she was seen getting an autograph from Katrina Kaif at the Race premiere back in 2008. Initially, fans had admired the sweet throwback video of the two actresses, but soon the attention turned towards Katrina, who signed the autograph without acknowledging Zareen. The latter, who was starstruck at the moment, was only seen smiling in the video, which left the internet divided. Sharing the video, Zareen penned:

"I clearly remember this moment… It's from the premiere of the movie RACE. Thanks to a friend who got us passes, we were able to experience the magic firsthand. At that point, I was just a wide-eyed fan, never imagining I'd one day be a part of the film industry. But look at how happy I am in this video, a total fan-girl… grinning from ear to ear, getting an autograph from the woman I thought was and is breathtakingly beautiful!"

After Katrina was criticised by a section of the audience on the internet, the other soon clapped back at Zareen for trying to showcase Katrina in a bad light. Zareen, who recently sat down for an interview with Hindi Rush, expressed her reaction to the video. She explained that her comparisons with Katrina had a negative impact on her career. Things are more serious for her because Katrina is from the same generation as hers, which kept the comparisons active. However, she still took it as a compliment because she has liked Katrina's work, but the recent incident made her upset. She said:

"I found it so sad. I posted the video because it brought back a happy memory, but people are hungry for dirt, and that's what they did."

Zareen pointed out that in the video, she was extremely happy because she got an autograph from Katrina, who was already a superstar in 2008. Defending Katrina's behaviour, she said that in the modern world of social media, celebrities are more inclined to blend in with their fans. However, stars used to be reserved in the 2000s, and she didn't even expect Katrina to acknowledge and treat her like a friend. Still, the Tiger 3 actress had made the moment special by giving her an autograph. Yet, to Zareen's dismay, both she and Katrina got trolled. Sharing her feelings, the Veer actress said:

"I was a fan, and she was the star. Maybe something was going on in her mind that we aren't aware of. It's only others who are pointing out her expression, but for me, it was a special moment. If Katrina got trolled, so did I."

Zareen Khan clarifies that she didn't intend to throw any shade on Katrina Kaif

After Katrina, some netizens went ahead to claim that Zareen Khan purposely sent the video to throw shade at Katrina Kaif. However, the Housefull 2 actress maintained that she isn't a bad person, and if that were the case, then she would have been more successful than she is today. At the same time, she believes that Katrina's behaviour wasn't rude and she might have been dealing with several other things while signing autographs at her work or something else. Highlighting how neither she nor Katrina did anything wrong, Zareen said:
