William Rush, the beloved son of actress, Debbie Rush, has passed away at the age of 31. On December 17, 2025, the youngster left for the heavenly abode. His untimely death has left his family and fans heartbroken. While William was widely known as an actor, he had a secret talent for singing and songwriting. He was best known for his role as 'Josh Stevenson' in the TV drama series, Waterloo Road. It was his heartbroken mom, Debbie, who confirmed the disheartening news of his demise.
On December 18, 2025, Debbie Rush took to her Instagram handle and confirmed the tragic death of William Rush. She penned a heartwrenching note and expressed her grief over the following. While the world is mourning William’s passing, it was his beautiful creation that stole the spotlight. Besides being an actor, William was an independent artist who loved to sing and write beautiful lyrics. Earlier, this year, in August 2025, William shared a two minute 58 seconds love song on his Instagram handle. The first few lines of the soulful track can be read as:
"It could only take a second to break us. But it will only take a minute to make up. Just hold on. This might take us quite some time. It’s gonna take more than an hour to work out, and it’ll take more than a day to calm down. That’s alright."

On December 18, 2025, Debbie took to her Instagram handle and shared a picture of her beloved son, William Rush. Along with the snap, she attached a heartwrenching note confirming the death of the Waterloo Road actor. Debbie opened up about her son’s special act before his death. She wrote:
"Our beautiful baby boy, William, passed away on 17th December. As a family, our hearts are completely broken, and there are no words that can truly capture the depth of our loss. Even in our darkest moment, William gave the most precious gift of all. Through being an organ donor, he has given hope and life to other families, thinking of others right to the very end. His kindness and love will forever be part of his legacy."

The Coronation Street fame ended the note by requesting privacy during this difficult time. Expressing her grief, she shared that William will always be loved and will forever remain in their hearts. She wrote:
"We kindly ask that our privacy be respected as we navigate this unimaginable grief. William will always be loved, always missed, and forever in our hearts."

William Rush was born on July 6, 1994, to Debbie Rush and Andrew Rush. William was one of the three children of Debbie and Andrew, who had been married since 1989. Before the youngster stepped into the world of glitz and glamour, he was trained at Manchester School of Acting. It was his headteacher, Cherie Rivero, who inspired him to take up acting as his career. Cherie also inspired William to audition for a role in a school play at England’s Bamford Academy.

William played the role of 'Ali Duncan' in the TV drama series, Grange Hill, from 2005 to 2007. However, it was his portrayal of 'Josh Stevenson' in the TV series, Waterloo Road, from 2009 to 2013, that brought him fame. He also appeared in the ITV soap opera, Coronation Street, along with his mom, Debbie. He also did some minor roles in TV series, Vera, Casualty, Shameless and Drop Dead Gorgeous. He also appeared as a lead actor in the TV mini-series, Friday On My Mind.
