Netflix's The Wrong Paris has quickly captured the audience's attention with its quirky rom-com twist. The film replaces the glamorous dream of Paris, France, with the small-town charm of Paris, Texas, in a fun, humorous, and romantic ride. It stars Miranda Cosgrove as the lead character 'Dawn', a young girl who dreams of making it big in Paris. But without adequate funds, she finds herself joining a dating reality show that takes her to a Texas ranch instead of the City of Lights. Amid all the humor, heart, and fish-out-of-water antics, everyone wants to know: will there be a sequel?
As of now, no direct sequel to The Wrong Paris has been announced. Netflix and the filmmakers have made no official confirmation about continuing the story. Still, the ending of the movie left adequate space for 'Dawn' and 'Trey's journey to go further. Miranda Cosgrove and Pierson Fode, who played the unlikely couple, have both hinted in interviews that they would be open to returning in a sequel. During a recent chat with Entertainment Tonight, when they were asked about the potential chances for a sequel, Miranda, who is also a producer of the film, joked that they would have to 'find another crazy place' for the characters to end up. In her words:
"It will be fun, I mean we'd have to come up with another crazy place to visit, like maybe we get asked to be on another reality show together."
The host revealed that the original pitch for the movie was titled, 'The Wrong Milan', which could be used next. Or she suggested that we could do a televised wedding for 'Dawn' where things go hilariously wrong. Pearson playfully agreed that it would fit the franchise's vibe. Suppose Netflix gives a go-ahead to The Wrong Paris 2. In that case, fans might see 'Dawn' and 'Trey' back on another reality show, traveling to an equally unexpected location, simply dealing with the chaos of planning a wedding under the spotlight. Although there is no decision on a sequel yet, the doors for a sequel remain wide open thanks to the characters' chemistry and the film's lighthearted story.
The Wrong Paris's end coincides with the finale of 'The Honeypot', where 'Trey' proposes to 'Dawn' after all the confusion between them is cleared. But, she surprisingly turns him down, not because she doesn't love him, but for her desire to pursue her own dreams. However, the movie doesn't stop there. The end credits show a series of photos showing 'Dawn' and 'Trey's relationship growing over time. They are spotted on family holidays to spring vacations. Eventually, the credits give in to the audience's demand, and the couple does get engaged later on. There is a picture of a romantic proposal in front of the Eiffel Tower in the film.
The Wrong Paris premiered on Netflix on September 12, 2025. The show features an ensemble cast including Miranda Cosgrove, Pierson Fode, the cast includes Madison Pettis, Christin Park, Torrance Coombs, Madeleine Arthur, Frances Fisher, Yvonne Orji, Hannah Stocking, and Naika Toussaint. Nicole Henrich writes the story. On the other hand, it is produced by Brad Krevoy and Michael Damia.
