He sat down for a conversation with Variety and shared that he has another idea for a potential sequel. Rather, he has a vision for a Weapons world kind of thing. The simple hint about the film's journey or a similar journey continuing has left the fans excited. In his words:

"I can't help it: I have another idea for something in this world that I'm kind of excited about."

However, before fans could begin setting hope for a date next year or soon, he clarified that he will not do it after his next film. But he has an idea that he would like to explore in future. For those unaware, the filmmaker is currently focused on his next project, a reboot of the Resident Evil franchise. So, a sequel to Weapons is unlikely to happen immediately. Still, with the film performing so well at the box office, it wouldn't be surprising if discussions about a follow-up begin soon. Warner Bros. has reportedly shown interest in using the film's success, which has added more weight to the speculation.

While some part of the mystery was solved, fans eagerly want to know who 'Aunt Gladys' was. Also, who was the mysterious girl who appeared at the start and end of the story? These loose ends make the idea of a sequel exciting.
