Nancy Guthrie's Neighbour Wasn't Investigated Despite Meeting Her Before Kidnapping, 'No One...'

The search for Nancy Guthrie has reached its 42nd day, with no hopeful news regarding the 84-year-old's survival. The search began on February 1, 2026, after the mother of Today Show host, Savannah Guthrie, disappeared from her Tucson, Arizona, home under mysterious circumstances. The Pima County police and the FBI are treating the case as a priority, suspecting abduction. Despite hundreds of leads and photos of masked person(s) of interest surfacing, the investigation is still stalled. Meanwhile, a neighbour of Nancy's came up with some new, surprising details about the investigation process.

Nancy Guthrie's neighbour shared his last conversation with her before her disappearance

In a recent interview with a journalist, Brian Entin, a gardener who works in the neighbourhood of Nancy Guthrie's Tucson home, shared details of his last interaction with her. The unnamed individual recalled his last conversation with Savannah's mother, which occurred approximately eight months before her disappearance on February 1, 2026. He described the encounter as brief and pleasant, occurring early in the morning. At that time, out of courtesy, he asked the elderly woman, "Hi, Mrs Guthrie, how are you?" and she responded kindly.

The gardener described Nancy Guthrie as a "sweet lady" and a very kind, pleasant person. When he was asked whether he had ever seen anyone accompanying her during his visits to the area, he replied, "No." After sharing the information with journalist, Brian Entin, the gardener made a shocking statement about the investigation into Nancy's disappearance.

Nancy Guthrie's neighbourhood's gardener wasn't investigated by the officials

Even though the unidentified gardener was in proximity to Nancy Guthrie's abode, the authorities didn't investigate him. He told Brian Entin that he was "surprised" not to be questioned as part of the investigation by the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI. Although he was back in the area after a couple of months, he would have been questioned, as it had been more than one and a half months since Nancy was kidnapped from her bedroom. Regarding sharing the information for the first time with the journalist, the gardener stated:

"I haven't spoken with no one before."

Is there any update regarding the Nancy Guthrie case?

Recently, a mystery tipster has contacted outlets like TMZ with claims of having sighted Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy as reported by IBT. The anonymous sender asserts they saw Nancy Guthrie in March 2026 in the south of the US-Mexico border. The individual is demanding USD 70,000 in Bitcoin in exchange for the exact location and the identity of the person Nancy was allegedly with. It was the sixth ransom-style email sent to media outlets during the search for Nancy. The tipster further claimed that they were told to "shut up" by the person with her and that they are using the media as an intermediary because they "don't trust law enforcement."

Has Nancy Guthrie actually been found at the Mexican border?

Investigative reporter, Dave Mack, discussed the claims regarding the spotting of Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy, during a March 2026 episode of 'Crime Stories' with Nancy Grace. He described the tip as "vague commentary," noting that they did not know exactly where she was seen or who she was with. Despite the vagueness, Dave stated the informant was "very serious about knowing it was Nancy", whom they had seen. He felt that the tipsters seemed confident in their claims, which might amount to a "positive identification of Nancy Guthrie in Mexico."

The investigator, however, also noted the fact that the entire information obtained regarding Nancy and her probable kidnapper's whereabouts was based entirely on the tipster's account. There were no photographs, videos or documents to support the claims, and neither the Pima County Sheriff Department nor the FBI has confirmed the development. Thus, whether Nancy Guthrie has actually been found south of the Mexican border remains subject to investigation. Notably, the Arizona officials are in touch with the Mexican officials to receive prompt updates if the victim is spotted in Mexico.
