Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbatein (2002) is remembered for its cast of industry bigwigs, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, and Shah Rukh Khan. However, many overlook that it was also the launchpad for several Bollywood newcomers at the time. Preeti Jhangiani, who played the mysterious ‘Kiran’ was among them. The actress recently received some devastating news. Her husband had met with a serious car accident and needed to be admitted to the ICU immediately.
On September 21, 2024, Preeti Jhangiani’s husband, Parvin Dabas met with a serious car accident and was immediately rushed to a hospital in Bandra. Preeti released a statement to ABP news sharing that Parvin has a serious concussion and is currently unable to move. She further added that more tests were being conducted.
Audiences who fell in love with ‘Kiran’ in Mohabbatein turned Preeti into a breakout star. Following her successful debut, the talented actress went on to appear in several Hindi films that were moderately successful. Her roster includes films like Aawara Pagal Deewana and LOC Kargil. She starred in Victoria No. 203 in 2007, but little did anyone know that this would be her last Bollywood film for quite a while. Preeti then started focusing on projects from the South like Thammudu, Yamadonga, and Visakha Express.
For the unversed, Preeti made a comeback to Hindi cinema after 10 long years with the OTT show, Kafas. Preeti opened up about why she stepped away from Bollywood in an interview with the Hindustan Times and revealed:
“I was not getting the kind of work I wanted. I was unhappy with the roles I was getting. I always wanted to play a significant part. It didn’t always have to be the central part, but it should hold some significance that impacts the story. That is what was important to me. I wasn’t getting those kinds of parts. So, I thought I’d take a step back rather than disappoint myself or my fans who do want to watch me.”
Preeti found love on the sets of the 2006 release, With Love Tumhara in co-star, Parvin Dabas. However, sparks didn’t fly immediately. Parvin once revealed in an interview with ETimes that during the first week or so of filming, he remained rather aloof. It was only during the latter half of shooting that the two formed a close friendship that evolved into a romance over time.

The couple only needed two years to realise that they wanted to spend forever together and tied the knot in 2008. Since then, the two have always supported each other through thick and thin, even embarking on some ventures side-by-side.
Not long after they were married, Preeti and Parvin set out on a new adventure. They decided to start their own multi-service media production house under the label, Swen Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Their production house has indulged in a variety of projects, including running multiple digital platforms and websites.
The duo believe in having clearly defined roles in their working relationship. So, Preeti serves as the company’s director while Parvin works as the managing director. Preeti elaborated on how they split work-related responsibilities in an interview with The New Indian Express and shared:
“He handles the administrative, creative and technical part, and I take care of networking and financial matters.”
Preeti and Parvin have always shared a mutual love for sports. The duo decided to turn that passion into a new business venture as co-founders of the Pro Panja League. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Preeti opened up about her love for sports throughout the years. She said:
“In school and college, I was really into sports. I was the captain of my baseball team, which is not something we really play in India. I played a lot of throwball and I competed at the school-level in swimming. And now, I am really into panja too, as a spectator though.”
