My Life With The Walter Boys was adapted from Ali Novak's Wattpad book of the same name and turned into a series on Netflix, which premiered in December 2023. The story of the series revolves around a teenage orphan girl, 'Jackie', who goes to live with the 'Walters', a family of seven sons and one daughter. The show returned to screens with season 2. However, in the finale episode, as the end credits roled, people were taken aback to see "In Memory of Todd Giroux" written on screen. Todd Giroux was a well-known producer
Todd Giroux was a well-known name in the entertainment industry who was responsible for the smooth sailing of operations behind the cameras. He was a production manager and a producer who had worked on notable sets such as Animal Control, Murder in a Small Town, Warrior Nun, Van Helsing, and The Orders. Todd was also the associate producer of the first season of Netflix's My Life With The Walter Boys.
Todd Giroux recently passed away
On Jyly 4, 2025, Todd passed away at the age of 51. With an impressive career dedicated towards holding down the fort behind the camera and yet his credits going unnoticed, Netflix paid the late associate producer a tribute in the last episode of season 2. After his passing away, Todd's sister, Kasey took to her Instagram handle and wrote a heartfelt message in memory of her brother that read:
"He was the most loving and caring husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, dog dad, cat dad, dad of any animal really, that needed a safe place to call home. But he was also a super talented AP/Post Producer and Supervisor, Mentor, Chef (his pizza!), Baker, furniture maker, hockey lover, handyman, camping enthusiast, lover of travelling, Iron Maiden enthusiast, wood working genius, he had so many hobbies I’d be here all day listing all them."
Kasey also praised her brother's inquisitiveness and how he would take the time to learn things he did not know. She also mentioned his kind nature and said that Todd 'would give anybody the shirt off his back'. Talking about his sweet nature, Kasey wrote:
"He had a beautiful curious mind that never stopped, and he was the hardest worker out there. To know Todd, was to love him. He would give anybody the shirt off his back, take the time to help you with anything you would ever need and never make you feel less than or silly for asking. I think everyone who knew him has a funny story or two about Todd, as he was the funniest guy around."

The community raised funds to help Todd Giroux's wife, Sheila
After Todd's untimely demise, one of his friends launched a GoFundMe to raise funds for his family. The aim of the fundraiser was to cover funeral bills, unexpected expenses, and also help Todd's wife, Sheila, to overcome the financial issues for a few months. According to a PrimeTimer report, the community showed up and raised CAD 58,000. Sheila expressed her gratitude to everyone who helped and wrote:
"I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has donated, shared, or sent words of comfort during this incredibly difficult time. Losing Todd has been the most heartbreaking experience of my life, and your support—both emotional and financial—has helped me to be able to take the time to grieve and process the shock from his sudden passing."
