Indian actress, Tania is one of the most popular actresses in the Punjabi Film industry. She began her acting career with the film, Son of Manjeet Singh. However, the film was released after Qismat, marking the latter as her debut film. For the unversed, both Qismat and Son of Manjeet Singh were released in 2018. In 2020, she made her debut as a lead actress in the Punjabi film, Sufna, co-starring Ammy Virk.
Besides being a phenomenal actress, Tania is also a scholar. She graduated from BBK DAV College of Women, Amritsar, Punjab, with a 98 percent mark. While her parents wanted her to be a doctor, Tania always dreamt of becoming an actor. But do you know that she once rejected a critically acclaimed Bollywood film to pursue her studies? Yes, you read that right. So, without further ado, let’s dive deep into to know more about her.
Tania was born on May 6, 1993, in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand to Dr. Anil Jit Singh Kamboj and Anju Arora. She was brought up in Amritsar along with her younger sister, Tamannah. Tania completed her graduation from BBK DAV College of Women, Amritsar, Punjab and passed with flying colours, scoring 98 percent marks. She won the Miss BBK DAV title during her graduation course.
Later, in 2012, she joined the Guru Nanak Dev University and completed a four-year course in theatre. During her four-year theatre course, Tania won the Best Actor of the Year award each year. She also holds a postgraduate degree in Interior Designing and Project management.
Earlier, in a 2020 interview with ETimes, Tania revealed how her family had preconceived notions that if a girl is born into a doctor's family, then she has to be a gynaecologist. She shared that during her high school course, she had to take a subject on medicine to fulfil her parents' wish. She revealed that for her parents, she also appeared on the PMT exams.

However, she never wanted to be a doctor. Tania expressed that since childhood, she had a great interest in acting and wanted to become an actor. She also shared that after completing her studies, which included her graduation and post-graduation for six years, she finally got permission to enter the film industry.
Tania began her acting career with the film, Son of Manjeet Singh. However, the release of the film got delayed, and she appeared as a supporting cast in the 2018 film, Qismat, co-starring Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta. She received the Best Supporting Actor award for the film and also got nominated in the category of Best Debut Performance. Later, in 2020, she bagged her role as a lead in the Punjabi film, Sufna, and shared screen space with Punjabi actor, Ammy Virk.
The Punjabi actress also had the opportunity to be featured in the 2016 Bollywood film Sarabjit, where she was cast as 'Sarabjit's' daughter. But as the film’s schedule clashed with her final exams, she had to reject the golden opportunity. She appeared in several Punjabi films, including Guddiyan Patole, Qismat 2, Lekh, Rabb Da Radio 2, Sufna, Bajre Da Sitta, Oye Makhna and many more. Tania also made her presence in Punjabi music videos, including Teri Meri Ladayi, U & Me and Kya Baat Aa.
Tania is a trained classical dancer. She has performed in various National-level Indian classical dance competitions. Earlier, in a 2020 interview with ETimes, Tania revealed that she had wanted to become an actor since childhood, and she knew that the only way to make her place in the industry was by being skilled in both acting and dancing. Thus, she took training in Indian classical dance.
