The tragic news was confirmed by the league early morning on November 6, 2025. Unfortunately, the news comes just days after he scored his first career NFL touchdown, which left his teammates, fans, and family in shock.
As tributes are pouring in for the rising NFL star, several fans are also curious to know about Marshawn Kneeland's girlfriend, Catalina, who was mentioned in both the Dallas Cowboys' official statement and other reports about his death. Here's everything we know about her till now.
According to a statement released by the Dallas Cowboys and multiple outlets, Marshawn Kneeland was in a relationship with Catalina before his demise. While the team has acknowledged her in their condolence message, little information is available about her personally. Her family and Marshawn's family have kept her identity private in this difficult time. According to a police dispatch audio obtained by TMZ Sports, she was the one who alerted the authorities after receiving a distress message from Marshawn. Further, it revealed that she told the police he was armed and struggling with mental health, leading to a fear that he might harm himself.

The police dispatch records even mentioned that Catalina tried to contact Marshawn's agent and the Dallas Cowboys organization after receiving the alarming message. In turn, the operators reportedly relayed that Marshawn had texted his family to bid them farewell, prompting a quick search for him using drones and K-9 units. But despite these efforts, authorities later confirmed his death. Expressing their condolences, Dallas Cowboys wrote:
"Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers are with his girlfriend, Catalina, and his family."
