At the mere age of 14, she won the European Championships and the Italian Open Junior tournament. Between 1998 and 2000, Anna established herself as a rising tennis star with strong singles and outstanding doubles performances.

She reached her first WTA singles final at the 1998 Miami Open and advanced to the fourth round of several Grand Slams, including the French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open.
